Quick question on purchasing Guild Wars
Hello! I am thinking of purchasing guild wars soon, but I had a few questions (I read the sticky here and it cleared up alot). First, are there any "combo" deals where you can buy all of the games/expansions together, at a discount? I noticed on the official site that buying them all separately is $100 which is pretty expensive lol. Secondly, if you only have the original game, can you still be competitive in PVP without all of the stuff from the other expansions? I am mostly interested in this game because I hear it has really fun PVP, so this is really important for me to help decide.
Also, is it relatively easy to just "jump on and play"? I know in alot of games like this you end up spending hours trying to find groups to do PVP or PVE content with, and it can get frustrating lol. Thanks a bunch in advance for the help! If there's anything else I should know, please feel free to share. |

If you look under Guild Wars complete collection on Amazon.com I saw they have that set for $36.99. Which is less than any of the 4 gw games when they came out.

You need to head over to the PvP forums because a long time ago I was active in PvP however, now not so much. I have heard it has died off and become very poor quality.

If you're interested in PvP, there are unlock packs you can get for it, including the skills, but I think you need to have the expansions for them.
As for PvE, it's extremely easy to just jump on and play! It took me all of about 5 minutes to learn the auto hotkeys for things (such as inventory, party, hero panel, skills, etc), and there are NPC's called "henchmen" or "heroes" (as you unlock the heroes) that you can add to your team to help with the PvE. You can also play with other people if you want to, of course, but sometimes it's hard to find someone. I've done most of the content on my own with heroes/henchies, and I've found it fun. But if you want human company, I suggest getting into a guild and asking for help there. Any other questions, just ask away =] |
