I just started to play Guildwars and I chose the Warrior class. I'm not sure which works best with warriors and what would be the best second profession to use. Also if you have any links to articles/guides that will help me make a good warrior build. Thanks

Welcome welcome!
Your build is very important, but your teambuild is even more important - you're just 1/8 of your party (for the biggest portion of the game). Your really just want to use 1 or 2 skills from your secondary profession, ranger gives you access to antidote signet. Read this: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/w...t10326347.html As for builds, use the wiki if you want to create your own (for warrior, search on the other professions for their skills) http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/W Or use pvx if you're lazy: http://www.gwpvx.com/PvX_wiki |

Welcome!
For now just play the game and enjoy it. Make yourself familiar with GW Guru and GW wiki. Those 2 will be enough for now. Don't rush, you'll learn everything, but not now. Just enjoy the game. Welcome to GW where information overload is the norm. There are lots of ways that work and even more that don't! If in doubt about a 2nd profession, go /Monk. Because this gives you a reusable rez and other goodies besides. Generally speaking a stance of some kind, some damage skills, utility such as resurrect. Depends on what chapter you are starting out in.
http://www.gwpvx.com/Main_Page has lots of exemplar builds. Warrior is a great choice. Was just out with mine in Hard Mode. True it is that you need a good party. But with a good party, a Warrior really deals out the Henry and is fairly sturdy too. Hard combo to beat. Edit: I started out long ago as a Warrior/Monk in Prophecies. My big discovery was that the henchmen can take care of themselves and win the battle too most of the time. Worst thing you can do is charge right in and use up all of the healer's mana, then the party goes down and so do you. Find a small longbow or flatbow, no marks requirement, and put that in weapon's slot 4. Use it to pull. Also to get combats rolling. You do not have to lead the charge. Once the party has aggroed, then get in there with your melee weapon and end the fight. If you have monk secondary, equip Healing Breeze as soon as you find it. Use this on the Healer Monk whenever it gets in trouble. Also if you see the Healer's hit points starting to dip, double click on her or his name and your character will run to her. Attack whatever is beating up on your healer. Keep the hench healer alive and nearly every combat is easy after that. Ctrl-Spacebar will call target for your group. Kill the enemy healer first if possible. It is not always possible and if they have jumped you and have melee forward trying to kill your healer, then that is your priority. ---------- Warriors aren't bad at all. But I find them very boring and only good for PvP these days. Surely give a try some other professions. Dervishes are great and still very similar to warriors. |

Since you've just started to play GW, you will have only a limited number of skills and a small number of attribute points. So, basically, at this point, depending upon what weapons and skills you have, it's time to experiment with the skills and weapons to see what you like best - sword, axe, or hammer.
Don't worry about your secondary at this time. If you've already picked one, don't sweat it - if you haven't, pick anyone you think you might like, or just go with Monk for the rez and some self heal (but don't try to be a "healer" in any sense). I would also suggest that you concentrate on your primary - you don't need to actually use your secondary. Later on, but not too far into the game, you will be able to change your secondary to whatever you want, whenever you want. (Except that having Assassin, Ritualist, Paragon, or Dervish will require that you own the particular campaign - Factions or Nightfall) |
