How should I organize my characters?
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
It has been a long time I came back to give Guild Wars another try. Guild wars is like an good old book and I just want to read it again. One problem though, I got Characters that I don't know what I am doing with and I need a refresher. Besides that, I need to set some goals as to what i want to accomplish so I can increase my points for HOM. I know that HoM is account base so I would like for anyone to suggest ways to improve my game. AssassinCompleted Factions I think I have completed EOTN, since I know I have HM enabled, and Nightfall is almost done. I am thinking of completing all of the campaigns in the three campaigns first. After that, is what I am unsure of doing, since this is my main character as it has almost everything. The downside is that assassin is becoming worn out (with nerfs and such). DervishCompleted Nightfall I am thinking of using this guy to get Tormented weapons from DoA. Or maybe get it to be a ranger and get some pets RangerPVP Zaishen Key-man Neuromancer/rit Prophecies I basically have no clue as to how to put this character in use (Now in EOTN) RitualistJust starting out Complete Nightfall is a goal and maybe use this character as a character to hunt destroyer cores. AssassinPVP Whenever i don't feel like playing Pve I play with this character in JQ. ParagonMight as well delete lvl 4 So there you have it my characters and goals please help me from going around in circles if I am not utilizing them in order to points for HoM. By organizing them in such way I don't have to make one character do everything |

If all you've done is complete campaigns then I'd just pick one character you like playing and use that one to do everything. It is just easier to keep track of then rather than having titles done all over the place.
Completing a campaign isn't too difficult so you can always take a character through. The only thing you'd need to consider is if you wanted to use a particular character in end-game content that would require them completing that campaign. |

First of all, I suggest you go through all your characters for undedicated miniatures and birthday presents.

Thanks everyone,
To Bsoltan, I understand that having one character is simpler, but sometimes you can't remember what you want to do (Well thats me anyways). Its hard to keep focus on what you want to do with what character so I would like to divide the tasks up and ease into what I would like to do with what character. That's why I find that HoM is account based and I could organize in such a way Olle I meant for my dervish to be a pet farmer charm them and place them in a monastery. Adrianos Thats the stuff that made me research into effectively organizing my characters so that one character can be set aside to gather materials, pets for the monastery zoo and such. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with all the stuff i can do. Last edited by Junato; Dec 27, 2011 at 12:52 AM // 00:52.. |

well, since I have 30+ characters on my primary account...I found an excel spreadsheet to help me out ....I put in all the missions, things like bday, xp, skills (primary and secondary--did this excel before we did lots of changing of 2ndaries), bday gifts, armor, etc
on a 2nd sheet I have all the heroes listed, and what level they are (started recording what weapons and runes/insignias as well--but at 25x25...I, weellll, gave up ). It has been quite handy to look at and see 'ah, mesmer 2 hasnt completed aurora glade' and pick it up today....I also have a bunch of papers that list when missions are coming up and which toons need to get them.....(easier than figuring out how to keep it up to date on the excel--which I had started when the zaishen stuff came out....) then each month I pick a theme: kurzick month, nightfall month, etc....that way I play thru the characters with stuff to do in each area (kurzick happens a lot since I have yet to max it).....I have completed stuff with a few of my characters (my main monk is in rehab for his drinking and eating problems), so they take it easy and only come out when there is a really easy zaishen (unwaking waters, chabbuk village...).... I have my characters set up into primary , secondary tertiary, and quaternary....on the sheet to pick out who I should work on 1st, 2nd etc. also have a sheet with just dungeons ....plus a bunch of other sheets for other stuff I keep track of (packrat) as to which character YOU should pick---pick one you enjoy playing the most for your primary, doesnt have to be one that is the uber of the area (I enjoy playing one of my mesmers a LOT--and really dont give.....who cares--she has 15 titles already and working on a few more). If you dont like playing a profession, you wont want to play. eeeks...yep, sorry about the theisis.

Just keep in mind that the all campaign titles like Legendary Skill Hunter and Guardian/Protector titles will require that one character have done every thing in all continents. You can't get Legendary Cartographer if you have the campaign cartographer titles on 3 different characters, for example. That's why people usually pick a main title hunter because it makes it easier to get the HoM points for the Title monument.
The other four monuments can be mixed up between different characters on the same account with no problem really, but the title one especially benefits from concentrating on one character. There's an excel file on the Download tab near the top of this page. Not sure how up to date it is though. Welcome back and good luck. |
