A couple of questions about the Core Skill Unlock Pack - Page 2 - Guild Wars Forums

Sort of related, could someone explain skill tomes to me? The wiki wasn't all that enlightening. I've used signets of capture to get elite skills for my toon, and wish I'd a) changed my secondary prof, and b) brought an extra sig to one mission, as there was a good dervish skill that I got for me, but also the Blood is Power skill that I wanted to get for my necro - didn't know that at the time, but I can re-run it, and if I'm a secondary necro, will I be able to capture it and will that make it available to my necro hero?

And what are these elusive skill tomes that people speak of here that I have never seen referred to in-game, not even in Kamadan where every chat channel seems to be the trade channel in disguise, and you can buy pretty much - anything?

Yes, once you unlock a skill (for example by using a signet of capture) it will be available for your heroes.

Skill tomes and elite skill tomes drop from mobs and chests in Hard Mode. These tomes can be used to learn a skill that you have previously unlocked. There are three ways to unlock elite skills (that i can think of); Using a signet of capture, unlocking a skill through spending Balthazar (PvP) points and buying the skill unlock packs. Normal skills can be unlocked by buying it from a skill trainer.

There's almost always someone selling tomes in Kamadan (America English). I guess you were just unlucky not seeing them sold.

Basically, if you buy an unlock pack or have captured the skill on one character, tomes will allow you to access it on other characters, or on your main if you have bought the pack but not captured it yet.

In Kamadan, you'll see things like "WTS elite ele tome", though sometimes they don't bother with tome and just go "WTS elite ele".
