My first MMO type game was ASHERON's Call. I LOVED that game like no other, perhaps because it was my first love of a 3D persistent world. However.. I understand what the OP is saying, if you made a mistake in spec points on a character... you were indeed GIMPED.... with no recourse for a fix.
By now the OP has received helpful and hopeful advice from good sharing above. Let me just echo, since I know what you are referring about and scared about, you really can not gimp a character in GW. A little reading to learn how others play the classes you wish to play will be helpful, but any perceived mistake you think you have.. can literally be corrected in seconds. :-) |

Don't be afraid to play with your attribute points, or hero setups, or if you've not got heroes, then which henchmen you bring. I've seen a lot of the meta builds, but playing the game is different - one set-up does not cover every encounter. Sometimes minions are really helpful, sometimes they wreck things. Sometimes you want to give up a bit of damage because you need more healing, and sometimes a different form of damage and a different strategy is more effective against a different enemy.
I really like that about the game, and that you can rearrange things for each encounter if you need to do. |
