Only want 6/50... advice?
Hi Guys,
New to Guild Wars 1. I had bought the trilogy of the first 3 games on steam some many months ago. Been following GW2 for a long time, and with it getting closer and closer, I decided to try and get some Hall of Monuments bonuses, and bought EoTN and started my first guild wars 2 character. I heard Factions was fastest to level 20, so I started there. I'm an E/Mo at level 16 or 17, just finished the mission Vizunah Square. My goal for the HoM is really quite modest: I really only want 6/50 for the armor set and traveler title. What's the easiest way for me to progress to just get 6 points off the bat? I'll likely still play after getting 6/50, but it will be more of just doing what is fun rather than going for achievements. |

You get 3 points for just having your account linked towards HoM...
then you can add in 4 minis(common, uncommon, rare, uniqe) the cheapest set i guess you can get under 100k. The easiest way IMO would be to finish factions with all bonuses done for all missions, and when doing that, level up a pet to lvl 20. Account linked=3 Canthan protector=2 Pet=1. ??? Win! If you need any help with missions or (anything!) Pm me! my ign is "Miniature Julia" |

Okay sounds good.
What is meant by doing all bonuses done for all missions? I don't think I've had a bonus yet, or have I? If I miss one can I go back and re-do it? |

Don't even need the mini(s), or even the bonuses for Factions. Just finishing the campaign will give you Hero of Cantha. And with the trilogy, MOX can be put straight into the HoM. That's an automatic 6 points.

And yes, you can re-do any missions in order to get the bonus. Last edited by Star_Jewel; Mar 01, 2012 at 07:30 PM // 19:30.. |

Sounds good about hero of cantha and MOX.
I'll have to play through the EoTN campaign too right? to unlock the tapestries for the Hall of Monuments? |

Yeah, you need to play truh eotn to get the tapestries(or buy them)
I do suggest playing proph and NF also later.. seems like money thrown away otherwise... |

you can get an easy pet by creating a pvp character ranger (with charm pet on your bar)...go to the Zaishen Menagerie. you will have a level 20 wolf as your pet..show it to the tamer...
create a pve character either r/ or /r (easiest to do this with a nightfall character). go to the menagerie..charm wolf...go to HoM...add pet to display.

For your 6 points, all you'd pretty much have to do is go to the Eye. Honor (which would hold Hero of Cantha) doesn't need a tapestry, and Gwen hands you one (which you would use on Fellowship for MOX) pretty much upon your arrival.
But as Olle says, for the rest you'll have to either play through or buy them. |

Prophecies is VERY LONG, but IMO, has one of the best storylines of any RPG I've ever played.
I beat the main campaign a couple years ago and it was amazing. I think it holds up very well, even today. I just started playing through EotN and it's very good also so far. The gameplay is so addictive. I was only aiming for 8/50 myself, but now I'm thinking about going for at least 22/50. As for your 6/50, the best thing I would suggest is to clear the Primary Missions for the campaigns - you'll get the tapestries to unlock the HoM sections and along the way you'll find other stuff that will likely count toward other unlocks, like finding Heros and other stuff (Like just exploring the areas of the map you haven't uncovered yet). |

You can get a quick 50 platinim by just registering your name at tolkano! (you get 50 tournament points which you can exchange for zaishen keys which you can sell to players for 5 k each)

interesting, that sounds cool. once I beat factions I'll have to find that tolkano guy and do that. Is there an accepted "trading zone" where people go to trade? i was thinking of trying to sell this gold vampiric bow I got too

That's kamadan, jewel of Istan all right. Gtob for zkeys and some other places for other stuff, all can be sold in kamadan though. Weapon aren't really worth anything unless they are either: unidentified gold weapons (sell for ~700g ea because of the wisdom title), or have a thought after appearance (skin), or have one or more max good modifier. I'd suggest you either use it yourself or on a hero, or just sell it to a merchant because most of the time it's not worth the time waiting. |

You start with 3/8. You then don't even need Canthan Protector, simply finishing the last mission will yield Eternal Hero of Cantha, which is 2 points (5/8). Any Mini pet or level 20 pet for the last point.

If you do decide on a few more points adding animal companions gets a couple of points. Then check your maps to see how many missions you need to do to finish each campaign. With a lvl 20 character and heroes many of these missions are easier than they were first time around. Money gets you most things so you can buy some elite armours there are some in prophesies that don't break the bank. Doesn't matter what they look like as you just after points here and you don't even have to craft the headpieces. Upgrading hero armour is next, do the missions for the chance of them dropping or buy from players. you can hit 10 pts without breaking a sweat and 16 isnt hard. |

Yep just finish Cantha either level a pet up, or make a pvp toon that's a ranger and dedicate the free pet they get.
