Heros getting rich?
Hi folks
I`m still learning the Guild Wars stuff. (Levelled but clueless Elementalist/Mesmer hehe) Played this few months back & just started again. Out trying to make gold today to buy new spells & I noticed, when I loot eg: 105 gold from some npc, it says in chat "shared with group". I am grouped with hero characters, but didn`t notice it doing this last time I played. Checked pre/post looting & they do get gold too. Question is, is this meant to be so? Tad curious that they`re getting rich off of my corpses |

Heroes, hench and other allies (even minipets) get their share of the drops too... because they say that those are not just your corpses, but the whole team's corpses (they worked for you too)

Yes, the heroes and henchmen are all multi-millionaires. They not only share in the gold drops, but get a share of all loot drops. And we still have to buy our heroes equipment and runes. They have a very strong union.

Hmmm... mini-pets taking a share of the loot? I have seen drops for them (it happened to me a long time ago) but I thought I read someplace that minis getting drops was an bug that was fixed.

Anything thats there will be for you anyway. You can't kick heros/henchmen in an explorable area.

Reason is simple, they balance things out. Why would anyone solo if you could just get as much loot with a full team anyway? If you run a store and employ people to work for you, they might make you more profit, but surely you would pay them salary right?

Not only do "YOU" have to share... but what tickles my fashion is that they do not reciprocate in return! What money they find they seem to keep! They are probably drinking some dwarven ale among themselves.. and talking about you too!

The idea was that the other party slots would be taken by other human players who would get their share of drops.
If you got all the loot that would go to humans when you took hero/hench/mercs then you would easily make more money than the game was balance for. Even soloing with out hero/hench had to be nerfed through loot scaling a long time ago. |

in my honest opinion only henchman should get loot and gold when u loot something/kill it
as turn for their pay - heroes shouldnt loot scale things as they are there as your friends and fellow heroes to learn from you. |

Heroes are customizable henchmen, not your friends and they're certainly not learning from you. If anything, they make your experience as a player better than it is with henchmen and should thus get more than henchmen.
Loot gets split between every filled slot in your party, regardless of how they're filled. Now stop being ridiculous. |
