For Guild Wars 1, I know my user name and password, but cannot remember my character name, so I cannot login to the game. I am told to email official support, but that only gives out automated answers. I am told if their reply does not answer my question, I am to ask another question, which will, again, be answered automatically via machine. I am in a loop as unfortunately the automated system doesnt have a clue as to what I am talking about-it keeps giving out answers relating to guild wars 2 and not 1, and they arent even similar to what I had asked. The emails tell me that if this has not answered my question, I could contact support via the official forum, but I cannot register on there as it asks me for my character name also. LOL. Live support via the official website is also hardly ever on, and when it is, its busy so my questions arent answered. What else can I do-any other websites with official connections? Thanks for any info

when was the last time you played? did you ever take any screenshots? perhaps those are still around someplace...did you have any friends who played? (remember anyone from guru that you could contact to see if they remember a character name for you).

best answer is to look on your computer and see if you have a screenshot someplace--or on the 'old' computer you used to play on (if you are no longer playing on it)....do you remember what guild you were part of? (if you were part of one).

a while back you could send an email to support with 'cant remember character name' as the title and they would get back to you about that (you would have to provide other information for them to give it out)....no idea if that is still up and running, and currently with the beta going and all the 007 errors et.al. you wont get a reply back until monday at the earliest...

* Look through old screenshots if you have them.
* Ask irl/online friends that played with you if they remember any of your character names.
* Contact support here

You should copy the information in green and then click "Ask a Question" up at the top. You'll get a "Does this answer your question?" after your initial submit, say no and submit anyway. You'll get an automated response for now and during business hours tomorrow you'll get a real person to help you.
