Should i buy prophecies?
So... When i bought a old PC quite a few years ago a key to nightfall came with it. I didnt know about that untill some weeks ago. And, i installed it and it is actually pretty fun!
But, one thing... I am getting tired of the jungle ish environment. I figured out prophecies is the "Normal" guild wars. And, it looks like it is more than just one environment in the game. I don't have any cash ATM, but when i get it should i buy it? I am going to spend 200$ on a airsoft gun so... Have to wait some time. But, if i enjoy nightfall, but want a change in environment, is it worth it? Does people still play it? |

No, not really. This is mostly because Prophecies doesn't really have an end-game area the way Nightfall has DoA and PvE skills, and Factions has Deep/Urgoz and PvE skills. Prophecies also has Sorrow's Furnace and Tomb of the Primeval Kings but their rewards are not that interesting.
If you don't have it already, I recommend getting Eye of the North. It's fairly similar to Prophecies in that it has a wide variety of areas and its content is far more interesting and challenging. |

Nightfall is based on a middle eastern theme. As the game progresses, it will be mostly desert. If you want more variation, Prophecies has jungle, desert, lush farmlands, snowy mountains, and a volcanic island. If that is more to your liking, by all means get Prophs.
However, Prophs has a very slow leveling curve. You will level much slower than in NF. Once you get to Consolate Docks in NF, you can take your character to Prophs, once you buy the game and link the 2 games together. You will be able to do the quests and missions in Prophs with your NF character. If you do that, though, I would advise making a Prophs character for the beginning area to get the story. Your NF character will not be able to go there. Guild Wars is a fun game, and a good way to spend your time waiting for Guild Wars 2. Also, there are still people playing in all 3 games and the expansion. You will have heroes and henchmen to help you if you cannot find a group. Schmerdro's opinion and input wasn't very good and very limited to PvE end game missions. I would ignore it for the most part if not completely.
If you enjoyed the Nightfall scenery and graphics - You'll most definitely enjoy both Prophecies and Factions. Nightfall was by far the least enjoyable of the 3 stand-alone campaigns for me. It's necessity is purely from heroes you can PvE in this game with. I recommend playing from start in prophecies to truly get the experience this game was meant to give you. Not to mention, the scenery and music are tons better than Nightfall ever dreamed to be. |

If you enjoyed Nightfall then why not. You can get it very cheap and prophesies is the biggest campaign by far. Just be aware it is a slower paced story. Many wnat to rush ahead and skip parts but I would advise against it, if you enjoy the game for the game's sake then roll a prph character and follow the story, it s quite epic.

I would go for it. Prophecies was by far my favorite game. With Nightfall, you now have your heros to take with you making it even more fun.

Keep in mind, though, that as a beginning player, you will not have the skills or equipment to outfit your heroes properly. If you take your NF character to Prophs, using henchmen would probably be more beneficial to you than heroes....at least until you can get your heroes set up properly. |

Absolutely! If you're looking for varied environments, Prophecies gets the prize. Playing through Prophecies will take you through peaceful countrysides, blasted ruins, forests, jungles, snow-covered mountains, desert, and volcanic islands. It's a much larger part of the GW world and it does take time to cover it all, but it's definitely worth the while.
You'll hear a lot of "Ohhh, Prophecies is sooo slow and takes too long and playing through it is boooorrringgggggg!" stuff, but that's coming from people who've been playing GW for years. Playing through it the first time is quite the epic adventure and there's lots of fun to be had exploring Tyria. If you purchase the trilogy pack or the complete collection (which is probably the cheapest way to go), you can simply add the access key to your existing account. |

You should try buying Prophecies + EotN. Nowadays they ccome in package (platinum edition or something) for likr 10 euros! So it's not a lot.
In my opinion every expansion has their ups and downs and their own charm. Prophecies has Pre-Searing which is a rather unique area. I would highly recommend to get it if you want diversity. In my opinion you should buy the rest of the campaigns, since you would probably spend 20 euros on them which isn't a lot considering the amount of fun you get. |
