My cousin and I are about to start playing. He only has Prophecy, but I wanted to make an Assassin (or something different from Prophecy as I've played those before).

Can I play with him and if so, how hard is it to get to him when he starts in the first city?

you can play with him if you can go WITH HIM, but he cant go to factions WITH YOU or anywhere else, he cant obviously go to expansions he doenst have :3

Yeah. The problem I was reading is I cannot start with him, though... I have to do some quests in Factions before I can get back to him.

Is there anyway we both can start at lvl 1 in Ascalon where he has his Warrior and I have my Assassin? I read that I can get back there, but I will not get quest XP or skills until Lion's Arch. That's just stupid.

You have to start an assassin in Factions. You can't start one anywhere else.

Your friend, only having Prophecies, has to start in Prophecies.

Start your assassin and do your newbie quests and missions on Shing Jea isle to get to the mainland, do the quest to go to Lion's Arch, then run back to Ascalon to join your friend when he gets out of Pre (if you're nice, you'll start a temp character in Pre to play with him up till the Searing -- or just play a Proph character with him up till Lion's Arch, where your 'sin can meet him. You'll probably be roughly the same level at that point).

I'm sorry, there's no other way. (And it's not all that stupid, since IIRC the campaigns take place at different times in Tyrian history).

Similar to the above, but slightly different:

You can eventually join you friend in Prophecies, once you get your Assassin to Kaineng Center and you can do the small quest to take you to Lion's Arch.
If you wish to play with your cousin in the early stages of Prophecies - pre-searing in particular - you would need to temporarily make a Proph character (if you have enough slots) and play with him/her. You could then delete that character and start the Assassin, or play both characters until the Assassin gets to LA. (especially if you get to play more than your cousin.)

Yeah, that's what I am planning on doing. It'll work, I guess. I just wish there was an easier way... haha.

Best thing you can do is start with him with Prophecies since he doesnt have factions, it will take u guys a while until you both can play together, unless you have some coins to pay a runner.
