Running for Nesting Material
Hey there, my friend and I are fairly new to the game and haven't started on Nightfall yet.
We're wanting to get the Black Moa Chick pets for the Hall of Monuments, but obviously with the release of GW2 drawing so near saving time anywhere possible is a valuable thing in order to get the most points we can now. Eventually we still want to play through the entire campaign, but for now I'd like to know if it's possible for me to run myself and her up to the area where you can purchase the Nesting Material once we've done the quests that put you on the mainland. Is there a route that you can take to run there, or is it severely gated like Factions was making it impossible to access most areas until you've done certain missions? Thanks in advance. |

If you and your friend have foreign toons from the other campaigns, it's possible to skip ahead a bit to get to Vabbi, but you would still have to play through some missions.
You would need to either complete the requisite Sunspears in Kryta/Cantha quest line through to Consulate Docks or find someone who can ferry you directly to CD. Then I think you need to run the Kournan mission chain: CD -> Venta Cemetary -> Kodonur Crossroads -> Rilohn Refuge ->Moddock Crevice. After finishing Moddock, you'll end up in Weyhan Terraces, from where you can run out and open up towns in Vabbi...including the ones close to where the nesting material NPC, Nuwisha, is. |

You can get the a Desolation run as soon as you hit the mainland directly to Kodash Bazaar. Look it up on the wiki.

I had heard of the desolation run when I was trying to make sense of the story flow while flipping through the wiki, but I wasn't sure if that area was even accessible right away. Or if you could even use it to get to the required town after you were on the other side lol. Now that I know though I spent yesterday getting my assassin the skills needed to run, and is now in place to practice it. Thanks again! |
