Will my ping in GW be the same for GW2? - Guild Wars Forums

In other words, does GW share the same server locations as GW2?

I live in Asia so it's kind of a big deal for me.

I'm pretty sure Anet wouldn't skimp and use the same servers for GW and GW2 and judging from GW performance during the GW2 stress tests/betas I'm sure you'll be fine =]

Too bad they are.. That's not being skimpy lol. The login servers are on the same servers, and games are on same servers. It's not Anet's servers, its NCSoft's.

I'm actually hoping they do use the same locations, same servers or not. My ping right now is surprisingly good compared to other international/American online games.

Though a Hong Kong server wouldn't hurt

Just because they might be in the same location doesn't mean they're the same exact servers. As to the OP, sorry I misread it >.< Your ping should be the same if the servers are in the same location (I'm not as far away as you are but my ping was the same as it is in GW). Sorry again for misreading your post! >.<

That's slightly good to hear though I was actually hoping that pings would be better or something. I guess there's not much I can do though since ping is based on the location.
