NF w/o secondary profession - Guild Wars Forums

Hello,

I was wondering, how far is it possible to go in Nightfall without a secondary profession (with and without the main quest) ?

in order to get dunkoro you have to have a 2ndary...so you can only do the first mission, you can however, get a ferry to consulate docks (though you can not do the mission).

(I have a character who got that far, has done most of prophecies and factions as well as eye, just isnt allowed any further in nightfall).

I've done this as well and can confirm you can get ferry to Consulate Docks, but you can't start or join the mission. You can still play through Prophecies and Factions and even get Ascended in Factions.

Once you're 20, I think you can still get Kurzick/Luxon skills unless they changed it. In fact you can get triple or even a quadprofession bar as long as you don't get a secondary. Here's a screen I just took in game with 3 professions: N/A/Me

You might be able to go father if you can get someone to join with that has Dunk, especially when it comes up on the Z rotation.

Actually there are several mission that require Dunk, that could be a problem.

no, you can not...it wont let you enter the mission at all (I tried this with one of my other accounts that had finished nf...it says that player xyz is not ready for this mission or some sort of message like that).

yeah, was kind of hoping that you could just bypass not having ducko too, but it wasnt so---so yeah, did prophecies and part of factions and working on eye (and still trying to finish leg. survivor!), some professions not having a secondary are easy to do (heck they made a whole new game without having secondaries), so my ele doesnt even miss it (am looking forward to getting some of those pve only skills too!).

A guildi and maybe me wanted to get rank 6 with only 1 profession but seems difficult now

Rank 6 Sunspear? Just get to level 20 and go Hard Mode and kill bugs, you will get to rank 6 in maybe an hour or two.

you can still max sunspear, just not lightbringer.....the other problems are in the protector/guardian as well as carto....you wont be able to finish those up.

On a related note, does anyone know how far you can go, without choosing a secondary profession, on a character from Prophecies or Factions?

In Prophecie you just can not leave pre-searing.
In Factions, you can't continue the main quest to Seitung.

Don't know if you can get runned by someone.

I tried various methods in Factions to bypass secondary, piggyback with quests on another character. I wasn't allowed into Minister Cho's, and not allowed leave for Seitung Harbor.
I believe only Nightfall characters can play most of the game without a secondary (anything but Nightfall).

During Dragon festival I think I will try get a Faction character without secondary to level 20. It's only possible with holiday quest spawns like Lesser Grasps. These are level 18 and fairly easy to kill. I questioned myself why, I still won't be able to leave newbie area

Only thing that changes is I'm allowed to get Kurzick/Luxon skills from Guild Hall but that's not why I would do it.
