HoM Noob Needs Help
Hi, I played the original GW years ago and am now enjoying GW2. With 4 level 80's all decked in Exotics my main goal in life these days is to find cool looking gear/skins. I found out about the Hall of Monuments and and trying to unlock the Fiery Dragon Sword, which needs only 10 points.
I have 9 already from linking my accounts and a heap of miniatures. I just need one more! There's an extensive Wiki guide, but to be honest, not having played for years, and never having finished any of the campaigns or even levelled a character to 20 (I have 2 18's) I don't even understand how to begin doing a lot of what it describes. Can anyone with some knowledge in the are recommend what the easiest way to earn a single point would be? For instance, do I get one for having a level 20 pet? Do I just need to finish one of the campaigns? Thanks Last edited by Hootsmun; Sep 14, 2013 at 08:52 PM // 20:52.. |

It would be useful if you gave the name of one of your GW 1 characters so we can see your HoM.

Hi,
Thanks. Is that simply to level 20 for the pet, there's all this Evolution stuff that's new to me. I don't have Nightfall, so I don't think I can get MOX. Utse Lightwind is one of my characters. Last edited by Hootsmun; Sep 14, 2013 at 11:45 PM // 23:45.. |

Yes, it works with any pet, any evolution. There's also a fast way to level up a pet, called death levelling, where you basically lower your maximum health as much as possible, equip a vampiric weapon in order to kill yourself, attack your soon-to-be pet in the Zaishen Menagerie (without killing it), and then let a hero continuously resurrect you while you go afk for 10~15 minutes. When you come back, switch to a non-vampiric weapon and capture your level 20 pet.
Alternatively, you can capture a pet that is already level 20, like the Black Widow Spider or the Black Moa. |

I have done that...you get a wolf on your pvp ranger character...go to the menagerie...show it to the npc there and then on a pve character with primary or 2ndary ranger go and cap it. Works quite well.
OP if you have plat you can just buy a deldrimor armor remnant and use that to upgrade one of your eye heroes (I say deldrimor since you only need to get to gunnars hold to do this, for cloths of the brotherhood you have to get to the central transfer chamber).
