I didnt understand it...

you buy the game and then you have to buy anonther disc each 6 months?

Guild Wars is set up so that you can play with just the original game, but they will be releasing an expansion disc every 6 months or so, with new skills, items etc. It's a way of financing the online portion without having to charge a monthly fee. If you don't wish to purchase an expansion, then you don't have to. You can pay once up front and then never pay another fee again. Your choice.

no, you buy the game... every 6-9 months you can buy an expansion to the game which adds more content to the game... but is not required by any means... you will still be able to play with just the original game.

I don't think they'll add new weapons to the expansions...who'd buy them anyways if they mainly added new weapons?? Ok new areas...for the hardcore PvP-Players not really needed, I think they'll add something completely new, not only new areas/weapons, think about it, new weapons can be tarded and PvP'ers won't bother buying an expansion for new PvE areas will they?? New skills could be one of those additions but I think they'll mainly add new classes *maybe?!?* but they'll probably make 100% sure that those classes won't unbalance the game...okay new areas and weapons may be there too but they won't make an expansion for this stuff only...

they have stated in several interviews that the expansions will contain just as much content as the game. each expansion is treated as a new chapter, where the retail package we are getting in april is only the 1st chapter. i am sure that we will be pleasantly surprised.

Yep

There will be just as much content as the first chapter in subsequent chapters.. and well.. you can also quite happily guess that the content might be very different too. For example, when the devs were asked about more indoor or dungeon areas, they replied that it would most likely be in another chapter.. so, a chapter filled with things like caves and indoor environments.

But of course, all is subject to change. This does give you an idea of the wide variety of things that they can do with chapters, though.

They have also stated that people who do not have the expansion can't go to the new areas or use iteams or skill that come from it. So iteams cant be traded if you dont have the expansion.
