i live in australia, no idea where this site is hosted, but i was wondering if anyone knows when GW will be in stores in australia? and if you can buy it online then just download?

I saw some post about the game being released in Australia in May. But, you may want to wait and get a response by someone more in the know about this.

You should be able to purchase the game online and play when you get the full version just fine.

Guild Wars will come to Australia. I heard something about A.net making a deal with EB games. I don't think it will be as late as May... Maybe extremely early May?

I live in Australia and have pre ordered my game and played in the last beta week-end. The retail version of the game doesn't come out here until the 3rd May. My question is if I entered the early playtime on the 27th April will I be able to continue playing with my beta key until I get the retail version in my hot little hands? Or do I loose my Character and holding place until I enter my Retail key? which probably won't be until at least the 5th May by the time they send me out my copy.
Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

This upholds what I thought. If you pre-ordered and get in on the 27th. You will not lose your char and items. But you will have to have a full version cd key to get in after midnight on the 28th. If this means that you will not have a key till may 3rd. Then you are going to have to wait until may.

well afaik, the retail version will be out on the 28th in australia. At least when i ordered mine yesterday at EB thats what they told me. and they said EB has exclusive rights or so and they're the only ones selling it so there are no special offers or anything for preordering and u just get the retail version.

I received the pre-order pack from gamesmarket.com.au and played in the last BWE. They have the release date showing as 30/4/05.
