Default skills? lol

People say this game involves skills more than countless hours of playing but I don't see the "skills" involved in this game besides spamming spells and attacking. Someone wanna enlighten me on how skills are involved in this game?

If you have a good combination of skills, you can rack up a lot of damage. Think of it as Magic the Gathering card game.
If you can understand how you can use 4 different spells (for example) to kill an enemy, you understand the game

Not quite. What we're talking about here is skill as a team, in addition to skill playing a character and using their skills.

Spamming spells and attacking doesn't do you very much good if you're got backfire or empathy or spirit shackles or any of a host of counters on you.

Team strategy, cooperation, and composition mean a lot more than playing a character who can lay down mad damage (though of course that may be part of your teams strategy).

Skill is more important than hours played because in GW, the playing field is essentially level. You're not a level 60 group fighting a level 50 group, or a level 30 character ganking a level 15 character. You're a part of a structured and planned team, going up against opponents likewise prepared (in GvG). And if the structure and planning is only minimal (making sure the requisite classes are present for a good team design as is common in the Tombs), the playing field is still level. There are also random groups in the Arenas, which no one can plan at all (aside from the small amount of time for you all to figure out how to work with what you've been given).

It's early yet. Wait until the good guilds get organized! You won't have it so easy. Besides those of us who are taking our time enjoying all of the aspects of the game will be along in a while.
