Arrow Adjusting Brightness:

I bought the game about a week ago and found that the game was very dark. I turned up the brightness on my monitor all the way, and tweaked everything imaginable on my computer, however the game is still very dark.

I looked through the options in the game and saw that there in no brightness or gamma control like there is in most other games. Am I not looking in the right place, or is there just no brightness controll?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

There is no way to increase Gamma ingame, but what you can do is go to http://www.entechtaiwan.net/util/ps.shtm and download that program. It will allow you to over-ride your gamma settings and boost it way above the normal limit. I used to have a very dark monitor in the old days and power strip was my savior for online gaming.

Yeah, you can use an outside program to do this. I would recommend powerstrip, since it will save your settings for the game you are playing and not effect your desktop brightness at the same time. Also, my bet is on the fact that you use an ATI card right? They always have this problem with games.

I guess they did this for game balance? Since no gamma or brightness adjustment is available do you think they might have been trying to prevent people from turning it all the way up an gaining an advantage? Seems a little silly, but I cant really think of another reason?

Also I use NVIDIA 6600GTs in my comp with overclock driver mod, it includes an applet that will allow you to adjust gamma per game much like powerstrip, might wanna check that out if you are using later NVIDIA card.
