Um..i have a friend that wants to change his second class hes Monk/Mes as of right now. But he wants to change his second class to Ranger. will you lose all the hard earned skills for your current second class? or will you keep them?

If you change them through the secondary-class-changing quests, you will keep the skills if you do the quest to change your secondary back.

Yes. In the Crystal Desert after Ascension, there will be quests you can do to change to specified secondary professions. You have to do the profession's quest to change your secondary to that profession.

Tav didn't really answer the OP question, but I assume you lose all of your secondary prof. skills. However you don't lose your exp. gained from doing the char. specific quests and now there are dozens of quests reopened to you because you now fit the char. class.

What are these quests like? Basically I'm wanting to know how hard it is to change your secondary profession?

And once you do change it, how easy is it to acuire skills for that new profession?

I don't think you "lose" them, perse, but you cannot use them when you have a different secondary profession. If you want those skills back, you have to switch back to that profession. Sorry for the confusion!

Not an inconvenience at all. I was just reading the forums, figured this would be a good place to ask that question. I'll figure it out once I get there, I just like to know as much as possible before hand.

You can get the quest when you get to the forge...the quest giver asks you to go back to the desert where the various path quests can be obtained. I did the ranger path quest, the boss wasnt hard to beat but getting to it through 40-50 Stormkin was a little difficult. It may take a few tries to get to the boss but patience and trudging along will pay off. As for the others I imagine it takes much the same.

think you can do the change quest more than once? It would be nice to experiment with all the classes using the same character (as opposed to making several characters to try them all)

yes you can, Ive unlocked all available 2nd classes and can switch whenever I want now.

Its also a nice way of saving refund points ;-)

you can switch when you like??? as in, after you've done the quest you can choose at any time?

Yeah, you can. Once you do a profession's quest, you can change to that secondary any time. You have to do each profession's quest to change to it, however.
