If you started yesterday, you may still be in pre-searing. There's nothing much you can do about that at that moment.

When you'll be in post-searing, in Ascallon City you will see storage agents (forgot their name) which allows you to have a "vault". This vault is shared between all your characters and can hold golds and 25 items. In post-searing, you'll be able to buy bags to extends the inventory your character can hold and some holding runes can extend theses bags from 5 cases to 10.

My advice though, salvage / sell anything useless. Keep powerful weapons that you will use, any upgrades that you can use and the crafting material.

Searing? I'm sure your tired of these questions, but I'd hate to pretend what that means.

I'm a level 5 N/E I have a lot of good weapons and some quest items that I think i want to hold on. I was actually hoping to use the spiderwebs and gargoyle skulls to make something(dont know what yet) Do you think it is better to just hock this stuff right now, and do it later?

with the gargoyle sculls you can get a piece of armor, in the catacombs from a trader.

Im not sure what you can do with the spider webs but i guess you can just seel/salvage them

btw. the searing is the time that ascalon was destroyed, i think

After you accept the quest from Tydus with the red text. He'll ramble on about 'make sure you have everything in order'. You'll do a PvP mission, a Co-Op PvE mission, then you'll be out of the noob area.

You start the game in Pre-Searing (searing refers to a time when Ascalon is burned and overriden with the Charr), and in this area you can obtain a belt pouch - 5 slots by trading skale fins to an NPC just outside the main gates to Ascalon City (to the immediate left).
If it's a quest item and you've already fulfilled that quest, then they are useless to you because you can't sell them nor salvage them...otherwise check your quest log (L key) to determine who you need to speak with to complete said quest.
Spiderwebs salvage into Glittering Dust which is a componenet for Post-Searing Armour crafting.
Post Searing - When you're around level 6-7 you may be ready to cross over, to do so go and talk to Tyrus and he will ask you if you're ready - say yes and wait a few minutes and you'll load into a staging area with a countdown timer. When the timer hits 00.00 gates will open and you + party meet an opposing party to fight for a few minutes...then cinematic trailer kicks in, then you go kill and mob with NPC help....viola....you're in Post Searing Ascalon.

Nope. You'll be given random people/henchmen to group with.

there is a quest from sir tydus that pretty much asks you to go through the wall with him, he asks you if you are ready and you can choose to go with him or not

i'd suggest saying no until you are around level 7

when you go with him, you'll see what we mean when we are talking about seering, i just dont want to ruin anything for you

Before you go for your first "Mission: Pointless" you should do a number of the quests in pre-searing. There are two quests each of your classes that grant skills and you should seek them out. There is also a quest for an extra skill point and you should do that one. Collector stuff is fun, but not really needed as you'll be replacing stuff shortly after leaving candyland.

can you buy additional bags and put full bags of more stuff in your storage rather than just on your character? I have so many weapon upgrades and I havent cared to try to sell the yet.

I just thought of this now, i dont know why it wouldnt work....

And yes.... The storage system in this game needs to be expanded tremensly if this doesnt work...

If this works I will smack myself later for not having thought of this earlier. Anyone have a response?

When you are in pre searing walk out of Ascalon City and into Lakeside Country. On your left will be a collector asking for 5 skale fins. Give him 5 and you will can choose the belt pouch which will give you 5 additional storage space. =)

Quick question in regards to bags, can you remove a "full" bag and put it in 1 slot in you storage vault, thus taking up less room?

dont know havnt tried that yet
but i will today

only problem i have with the storage is that you need to store all the crafting elements...this pretty much uses up your 'vault'
