Default What Bow is The best?

This is a thread derived from pure curiousity =P
i was wondering what everyone's favorite class of bow was and why that is so.
My personal favorite is the Composite bow, seeing that it is a little of everything, the most balanced bow out of all classes.

still have to test that, not sure if they are a new class of bows or just another type of an existing bow

A lot of people have said they are longbows, but go ahead and test for the sake of science =)

It really depends, higher arch allows you to shoot over walls and etc, but makes you miss more when enemies are moving.

Best is probably a set of bows; one for short range (fast), other for long range (slow). In combat just switch between the two depending on distance. You'll usually use short range most of the time, though.

The point behind composite bows (and apparently dead and recurve bows) is that they're a combination of long and short bows. That is, they nearly get the range of a longbow, yet get the low arc of a shortbow. Granted, this comes at the expense of speed, but it does let you get the best of both worlds.
Sorta.

Ascalon is the same as flatbow, I've tested this. As far as horn/ivory go I don't know if that info is accurate but I think they're the same as dead bow.

The longbow does NOT have a high-arc trajectory. Anyone who thinks it does needs to fire one alongside a flatbow - now that is a high-arc trajectory.

lol Lash I couldn't have said it better. I really hate how high flabow/ascalon shoots, I mean jesus you could really see the arrow goes way up in the sky before it comes down, not that it isn't easy to dodge.

PS most of these infos we found are not quite accurate.

Flatbows make me feel like I'm toting a trebuchet around LOL... like I have to get bearings and windage like firing a mortar - where's my spotter?

i hate the ascalon bow. the arch is too high and enemies easily avoid it. it's only good for shooting over walls and etc and when the enemy is in stance. short bows are my favorite. fast refire rate and flight time and usually hits targets, even if it is moving. but at the expense of shorter range but i will always take fast over slow. and it is great at close combat unlike the other bows. halfmoon is my second favorite and composite is third.

i toat a Longbow, and a Shorbow around.. Longbow for pulling, shortbow for killing..

I will usually run around with my shortbow out, sense more and more mobs are coming out of the ground inside the shortbow range.

to answer the question above.. the max dmg of a bow is 15 - 28..

My shortbow is 15 - 28, 15% bonus while health is above 50%, with +1 marksmanship (13% chance)

Personally I keep a collection of bows for different jobs. I Use a 15-28 Zealous Short Bow of Fortitude for close range Barrages. A 15-28 Poisoners Long Bow of Fortitude for sniping mages/necros. Those are the 2 I use most often. What bow do you use?
