Default Is Travelling Possible?

Hey,

Just seared the other day, dloaded the World map to look at and was wondering this question...:-

Can I just travel around through and across Shiverpeak into other areas and around the world or do I have to do quests and missions before I can do this?

thanks

you can go anywhere in the world map without doing a mission, except for the fire islands and the desert.

just walk around exploring.

You will have to level a lot more, without missions and quests complete.

generally speaking a level 10 or above can make it to Sanctums cay and use 8 henchmen from Temple of ages to complete the mission to get to the desert. there you can get the Free Max or Near Max level armor from the collectors and go back if you wish. I did that with my 3rd character, and found the other missions lots easier after getting my monk lev 60 armor for free.

A lot of people go to droknars to do this but I found it cooler to get it for free instead of chilling out 7500 +materials for same class armor at droknars. That way I can save up for Fissure armor which is REALLY expensive, but still in MOST cases its not actually that much better, just different style. I think warrior class is only one that has a higher armor class in Fissure. 85 as opposed to Desert Collectors / Droknars crafter 80.

By the time I got my Free armor I was lev 15, and well ready to do the other missions, with a few elite skills, and several others unlocked with SoC use in the Crystal Desert. You get one free in Lions arch for a quest and another after you use it and get reward for that quest. so there is two free skills right there. And in oasis you can get the SoC no problem for more. Lots of bosses in the mission areas in Crystal desert. generally speaking you will be too weak to finish the missions but you should be able to capture a few skills from them.

It's not free... Bleached shells are hard enough to find, you can easily earn 7.5k in the time it takes you to find all collectors. And there's been a level 4 doing ascension.

true. I normally have em saved up first with another character before doing it with a low end character. but that's me... since I personally do not use the PvP arenas very much I don't think its a big deal. But I can see why some of you are now saying what you do about runners. If they are under level 10 and go get max armor no matter where it is from, then go back and fight in the <10 arenas. yea I can understand that being a problem. for some players.

except for bleached shells actually it is pretty easy to obtain the items
also the shells are just for one type of head piece that one may not even need

You would stand a much better chance of getting a useful answer if you wrote in comprehensible sentences, but I'll give it a go.

"Collector's Armour" is the sort of armour that you can get for your character by finding an NPC (usually out in an instance) who will accept a number of otherwise useless items (Charr Carvings, for example) as payment for a specific piece of armour.

You cannot axquire this armour with one character and then pass it to a lower-level character, because armour is automatically customised at purchase.

You can however, and theclam said, accumulate the relevant otherwise-useless drops with your higher-level characters and pass those through your storage box to your lower level characters so they can get the collector's armour.

You do know about the storage box ("Xunlai Agent")?
