ok, another theory, anet resets the trade rates at midnight, i was selling leather for 160g ea, then at midnight, eastern time, they would buy it for 30g., if by late tomorrow night the price is up again, then i think they let the system build up, then "purge" the system at midnight.

Just FYI. I'm not going ot rant or anything on farming, cause most of you already know my view on it.

It is important to say that you really should keep them private or in your own secured areas on your guilds web-page. why? Well, because when the developers see these posts with detail descriptions of where to farm and start seeing it used excessively, they nerf them. Yes a few in my clan use farming spot... But we publish them in a secured area, not for the world to see. Thus it is securing the spot from quickly being nerfed. I'm not saying they will not be nerfed. they will eventually. that is Arenanets policy now I guess. However we do not advertise it to bring it to their attention quickly.

Arenanet Officials scoured the net for exploits and farming location. almost everyone that had appeared on google at one time or another has been eliminated. However most of the ones that I have seen in SECURED areas have not. Thus... opinion only... If you want to keep your farming spot for the longest period of time... keep it private.

ya but you see hes prolly not giving away his top notch spots,im sure elric has quite a few things up his sleeves...but none the less hes helping other people and thats why hes greatly apprecieated...most spots have been nerfed already whether people are continusleys farming it or not...honestly i dont think the spots are always nerfed, example i was just messing around lions arch and i decided to go n a ettin run...everyone says these things have been smacked with the biggest nerf bat in the world but...i got 5 runes in like 7 mins, three golds 2 purps...my eyes lite up everytime i saw the golds and purp drop,it was great for once GW gave me a break and the runes started to rain...sup vigor-major fire-major divine-and i dont remeber the rest...i sold these and bout me some armour and gusse what im BROKE agian
but thats what this game is all about

I know for a fact that time is not the issue...unless its a random timer. I have been checking at different times throughout the day and night... I have seen prices drop to as low as 20/10 on parchment...then bounce back to about 560/10...and in five or ten minutes be back to about 100/10

I have noticed that the traders are not always offering all items now also. For instance, I just went on earlier today and found that the material trader did not list leather squares or steel for sale. However, they did offer to buy them....the price for steel was 324/10.

I was starting to think that if there were none available for sale, the price would therefore naturally go up....wrong.

I don't keep track of wood...cause I turn that into parchement. However, I have NEVER seen prices for bones higher than 30/10...quit writting it down actually.

Iron seems to be the first thing that is very common that fluctuates enough to make anything on. It is normally about 60/10....but does get as high as 85/10 now and again. (since I have been paying attention anyway)

Over the last few days, whats the highest youve been able to sell parchment for? And how much profit did you make.. Cause i have 500 something wood, and want to know if i shood sell it at 10g each to players, or make it alll into parchment.

ive given up on parchment as you need to sell it for 50 each to make that 10 wood sale which is only 6 profit after the 4 salvage charge

i used to sell parchment at 10/800 but that seems to be gone

if you can get 10 for the wood fast instead of wasteing time trying to sell parchment i would do it

unless you can get a really good sale on the parchment over 60 each

since the update, i've only seen parchment being sold for 20gp, which is exactly what you pay to make it.

The Material Trader just like all other traders works on supply and demand. Since this post was made more people have been selling materials then before. People are also making there own materials more as well. there for few people are actually buy from the trader. As long as this pattern goes on the prices will remain low...

Thats not exactly true... ALL the prices have been jacked up since they supposubly changed "only the interface" I used to be able to get 15+ each for iron and wood, now i get 4 each for wood, and im lucky to get 5-10 for iron..

Well....thought I would check out the prices this evening. I see others having the same trouble I was. About 130 this afternoon parchement was going for 542/10.....good thing I checked just now.

I just dumped my entire stack...230 or so for 1036/10

....yes....I looked twice...then manually used my hand to pull my jaw away from my desk. But it did happen.

......there is a new wrinkle in there someplace that we just haven't quite got hold of yet I suspect
