Default FoW shardage lack?

Ok, I dont like being a smiter and I hate trying to find a decent party with a decent healer, as my warrior, so I've been doing Fissure of Woe with a healer monk lately. Everything went well, until about three days ago.

Since then I've made ample FoW runs, seen people get 5+ shards per run, and haven't gotten one. None at all. They just stopped dropping for me.

Is it because I do not attack enemies? Is it to prevent monktank farming (which wouldn't make sense, as the UW solo exploit still hasn't been solved) or have I just run an incredibly bad streak of bad luck?

I just wanted to get a clarification on this

thanks.

It's just bad luck. I've done FoW as Warrior, Ele and Monk. No matter what profession, I have bad runs and good runs. And I've seen monks get really lucky. One had 5 shards a run while other members got none.

solo EXPLOIT!!??!!

Try it, tough guy. =) This could turn out to be the biggest money sink in the game, since it costs you 1p to try and there is no nice happy res shrine just around the corner. Even if you are pretty good at farming, one tiny mistake and it's over before you can mutter "ah shi..." and any loot on the floor still is bye-bye.

Nope it's just bad luck. Like the one guy that gets 3 etcos, a storm bow and a couple eternal shields, while you collect remains and jawbones and 200 piles of glittering. Which leads me to think the drop system is truly random - you couldn't have such runs of evil/bad luck otherwise. Unless you were being targeted... (looks around nervously)

It's just a bad stroke of luck. A couple days ago another monk got 3, I, a monk, got 2, and others got between 1-2.

I wasn't under the impression monks could solo FoW? As soon as you ran into enchantment breakers you'd be screwed, eh?

ya these monktanks are screwed in FoW of course, but they are built for one purpose only: farming UW. And trust me, it costs little effort. Just make sure you have low hit points (i'd check the rune trader in droknar's - all superior monk runes are far more expensive - if you think it's not done much) have good energy gain (essence bond blessed sig is enough for most people, i've seen others use channeling as well) and high divine favor, put protective bond on, zealots fire yourself and start spamming divine boon.

It is very much an exploit.

but anyways, if its just a streak of bad luck, I guess I'll keep going. Three days, which had probably about 20 or so successful runs, and no shards, is a bit much though... I mean if everyone has four or more, and I have none... ah well.

i did like 3 runs in FoW and got nothing good at all.after that i decided it was a waste of my 125g(although i could make a profit selling/salvaging those items i wasted time too)

it's just random luck, like all of yesterday, i did like 5 or so missions, and i see gold runes dropping left and right, that are not for me, a bunch of purples and gold items as well.

now it gets pretty annoying when the best thing you find all day is a minor rune that you don't need and already have, but get more annoying, when you keep finding that SAME rune over and over

that was yesterday, this morning (i play about 30minutes to 1hour before i leave for work) i logged on, and i started a solo mission with hench, as soon as i start killing stuff, i see a bunch of minor runes, then when i get to a siege machine, i kill everything around it, and wudya know, two purples drop within two seconds of eachother

you have good days and bad days, so you know its just luck when 2 purps drop in 2 seconds ^_^
