Default Newb Question

I was just wondering, before I get the game, and don't screw up my character, but when you talk abut Mo/Ere or something right that, what do you exactly mean?
I know I want to be a Necromancer/ what goes her?
And just basic class selecting info would be good!
Thanks,
Arnack

Any profession combinations are good. If you bring the right skills and play wisely, anything can be good. A Mo/Ele is a Monk/Elementalist, here are the list of what the game uses for abreviations:

Monk: Mo
Elementalist: E
Necromancer: N
Warrior: W
Ranger: R
Mesmer: Me

So you actually can choose both?

yes, you get a primary and secondary class. however... you dont get the "special" skill of your secondary class.

elementalists get energy storage (+3 energy per point)
monks get divine favor (3 points of free healing when you cast a monk spell on an ally per point in divine favor)
necromancers get sould reaping (gain 1 energy per point in soul reaping whenever somethign dies near you)
warriors get strength (passive armor penetration% using warrior skills)
rangers get expertise (% reduce energy cost of attack skills, preperations, nature rituals.. does NOT EFFECT SPELLS)
mesmers get fast casting (pretty self explanatory, cast your spells faster)

some of them have skills assosciated with them, and if you cant train up the attribute, those skills will be mostly useless since you cant ever rank them up. thats the disadvantage you take for choosing a class as your "secondary" instead of primary.

Yes. There is a quest in pre-searing Ascalon where you are given the task of choosing a 2nd profession. You run around finding all the questmasters (one of each class). They will give you a couple of skills to "play with" and a quest to accomplish. Once that's done, you can choose to keep the skills and that profession permanently (at least until near the end of the game) OR you can keep the skills and find another "trainer".
