Default Farming with a War/Ele

I have a level 17 warrior/elementalist. I keep getting destroyed when I try to solo farm. I know that everyone has their own build strategies and I was hoping to get some ideas/hints from anyone who has this build or a good idea about how to build it well. I am using Fire as my elemental skills right now since I like conjure flame with for my Fiery Dragon Sword.

Currently, I'm using:

Conjure Flame
Frenzy
For Great Justice
Sever Artery
Gash
Healing Signet
Lava Font
Sprint

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What are you farming? The build seems viable enough, but if you're tackling specific monsters, you need specific skills. If it's giants you'll need dolyak signet, if it's griffons then gladiators defence helps, etc.

I'm just having problems farming at all honestly. I am farming mostly for XP at this point. I just want to get my character up to level 20 quickly. I was farming the Mergoyles outside of Gates of Kryta but now they are only givein me 18 XP per kill so its going a little slow. I can't seem to find a good spot to solo farm for XP to get my character up to level 20 fast enough!!!

I never played as a Warrior.. but you may look at the Earth skills. There is an armor skill that gives you lot of armor bonus and some skills that deal heavy damage. Or you may look at water skills, Armor of mist and some of them will make your opponent dizzy, blind or something. May give you a chance to solo them.

Fire is great at damage.. but won't help you survive in a long fight. In fact, it's all balance, Fire deals a lot of damage, make the fight shorter.. but water / earth gives you more resitance and you may survive longer.. if you want to stay in fire, look at Flame Burst, Phoenix and Inferno (I think) they deal lot of damage in one shot, and I think it would be more effective than Lava font (which I never used).

Pheonix, Meteor storm, and Inferno are infinitely better than fire storm or lava front. But I like Air for Farming, Whirlwind, Chain Lightning, Enervating Charge, Lightning Strike, Lightning Orb, Air Attunement, Aura Restoration, and Ether Renewal work very well together. (Although Attunemnet, Aura restoration and Ether Renewal would work better with Stone Daggers or Flare). (I am a Elementalist Primary so this doesn't really help W/E and is a little of topic).

Maybe against ettin you would be able to survive.. they are not really far from kryta, when you do your mergoyle run, continue upward (north I think) and you will change zone, if you continue west, you will be at Ascallon Settlement and there are some around there.

I seem to be fine against foes who attack melee (but not elemental). I am a Warrior/Ele but primarily for knockdown. I use hammer/earth magic and use skills such as ward against melee (to survive). But since you're not a hammer user, we won't be using the same warrior skills. But I suggest Earth magic for farming as it provides good defense and devastating attacks for knockdown builds

EDIT:: Oh and gladiator armor is probably your best choice for the additional energy.

Phoenix and Inferno I do have. I like the area effect of Lava Font. Knocks everyone around me down for a few points and makes them easier to clean up after I get the first couple of creatures out of the way. Maybe Flame Burst WOULD be a better idea??

I do know that.. but I didn't mention Meteor shower because he's a warrior.. and that skills cost 25 mana...

I often use fire storm and meteor shower.. when the ennemy are knocked down by my meteor, they cannot run from my fire storm.. usually...

Phoenix is pretty long to cast, but may deal around 150 dmg if you're close to the mob.. Flame burst and inferno are almost instant and deal lot of damage to nearby foes... which is great, flame burst has a pretty quick cooldown too.

Is Earth magic going to be as effective for me though since I am using Sword??? What build would you suggest for a sword/earth magic warrior/ele then?

Ascallon Settlement. if you look at a map, it's north-east of hot springs, in the zone between kryta and the zone north of hot springs (nebo terrace I think).

Skill : Meteor Shower

Back to the build issue. So does anyone have a complete build in mind that they would use for the war/ele setup?? Definitely looking at sword but magic type is open. I guess I'm most interested in Fire or Earth based on the above posts but I'm open for any suggestions. What skill set would you use and how would you distribute your attribute points?

You may take a look at the build compendium on this site, there are some Warrior/Elementalist poster there... for example :Clay Soldier, this build uses earth magic and swords

Have you ascended yet? When you fight your mirror you get 50k xp I belive.

Each mission gives you 1k xp + skill point.

Bonus from mission is another 1k xp.

Do you have the collectors gear from the desert? or draknor armor yet?

as a level 20, in the hlvl areas.

in a group of 8, you can get 18xp per kill

in a group of 4, you can get 48xp per kill

solo 148 per kill.

No, I haven't ascended yet. I am working on Draknor armor but haven't had enough time to farm for cash yet. Its amazing how much that stuff costs!!! I'm using armor-50 gladiator armor right now for the extra energy points it gives. Actually I'm kind of annoyed that the REALLY cool looking Platemail armor that I WANT doesn't give any energy. Personally I think that the Gladiator armor looks kind of weak but the Draknor Gladiator armor gives 80 armor PLUS 8 eneregy which is nice for this build. I wish there was a way to get the Platemail PLUS the energy. Oh well
