The faster the frame rate the less lag you will get because of the fame rate.
Lag has many things that govern it. Fame rate is just one.

If doing on-line combat flight sims like I did for many years. Fame rate, ping and lang are your friend or yer enemy.

no refresh rate is "bad for my comp". it's an issue of will your video card support it and will your monitor support it. assuming you have the latest video card drivers, you should be good. any setting you see your monitor will (most likely) do. theoretically it's designed so you can't set it to a setting your monitor won't do. the beauty of "plug & play".

a old monitor (VERY OLD 5-6 year ago) can be damaged if you set a unsuported refresh rate but new monitor dont have this probrem anymore.

if you want make some lore ...

if youre playing gw on a 6 year old monitor you have bigger problems than your refresh rate.

I don't see what's wrong with a 6 year old monitor. Maybe a 6 year old computer, but monitors are monitors. Just don't screw with the older ones is all.

Max on a TFT-screen: 75 HZ ( Even if you tweak above 75, it's still 75 HZ )
Max on a CRT-screen: 160 HZ ( Even if you tweak it above 160, it's still 160 HZ )

The HZ shows the current refresh rate on your screen. The higher, the better. I'd recommend 100 HZ. Some old games can cause lag-spines due to a high HZ-rate.

New TFT-screens got something called MS. The lower, the better. My TFT-screen can run 25 MS which is good but not the best. The best I've seen today is about 5-6 MS. They cost about 7000 SEK which is about 892,23 USD.
My advice is to buy a CRT-screen if you're playing online games and want the the full performance.
