Default Why is aeromancer armor diff. from others...

Trying to craft aeromancer armor, it seems ridiculous that it takes bolt of linens, or rare crafting materials, whereas other armors (pyromancer, geomancer, hydromancer) require common items that can be easily found...
Anyone care to explain?

Air spells usually have armour penetration, this counters it and is thus more expensive.

Actually this is a very good explanation for the cost in materials. I've been wandering too since my wife made her's 15k aeromancer set. So it would be actually justifiable that preventing armor penetration is the reason.

The steel allows the current to flow around and down to the ground, rather than through you?

That all depends if the steel is the path of least resistance.
