The Prima guide lists it as having an armor level of 60, wheras
other pets fall by the wayside with lower armor classes.

But why a bug has more armor than a bear is beyond me.

Wrong.

Ranger-Pets: Increased pets' run speed by 20%; increased pets' armor to 80 at level 20

http://www.guildwars.com/news/gameupdates.html

All pets have the exact same armor class.

yes, i can confirm that the prima guide does say, according to their stats, that the spider is superior to all other pets.

HOWEVER, as Thues is saying, the update has made the change for ALL pets.

So, more than likely this was once true about the spider, but is not true any longer.

Shmash

PS - whats wrong with the lizard pet? I never see anyone with one of those (other than myself).

PPS - I wanna see a pic of a fully evolutioned moa bird and lizard. 8)

I had a wolf, but just switched to a lizard. Right now my lizard "Dixie" (named after my dog lol) is only lvl 10. When I get it up there I'll try to post some pics!

not true. The elder black widow is marginally better than all pets.
man... where do u get the nerve to tell me i'm wrong without even providing proof? i've done tests and read tons of threads about other players testing... all pets have the same AL, damage, and health... and this is proven.

I wonder who decided Elder conferred +3 damage.

I suspect Elder gives no change in health and no bonus or penalty to attack damage. I know people are now saying Elder is +1 damage and +30 to health.

But if Elder is between Dire and Hearty, then what I'm suspecting could be true. So you have:

Dire: +2 damage, -60 to health
Elder: no change to damage, no change to health
Hearty: -2 damage, +60 to health

Any thoughts?

Well, the precise attack numbers haven't been proven, but I've at least proven that the Dire does more damage than the Elder and given an approximate value for that difference as well.
