Armor Question - Guild Wars Forums

I currently have Pyro armor with a +57 rating, what is the benefit of Droks Pyro armor that rates at +60. Will this give me -3 per hit I take? Also I am a earth farmer now, would I benefit from a set of Geomancer armor instead of pyro? Will the Geo give me an offensive boost in any way? Also will mixing armor class have any negative effect on me. ex. Pyro gloves and chest geo leggins and boots. Thanks.

not quite -3. The AL reduces dmg by a certain percentage. Most listed dmg, ie 15-22 on a bow assumes an AL of 60, so at 57 you're actually taking slightly more damage.

Only the head piece provides an attribute boost so if you are using earth magic use the earth head gear. The rest of the set provides defense against that particular element. I have fire, earth and air head gear with matching superior runes in them so can swap as desired. I have the superior water rune but haven't bothered picking up the head piece yet. The rest of my armor is hydromancer.

You can also get basic armor 60 from the desert collectors for "free", including some head pieces.

Droknars armor is not 60k, it is roughly 1500 gold per piece. If you collect the materials as you go there is no purchasing required, except some that require the rare materials then you "trade" the common materials + cash for the rares.

Thanks Dean...I got the head piece but haven't put any superiors on it yet...want to get my permanate armor first. Say which is the best looking geo armor for the Elementalist?
