Default What is a Bunny Thumper? (search came up 0)

Hi,

Simple question: What is a Bunny Thumper? I see this term used in the reports for the championships. I believe its some kind of warrior.

Thanks in advance!

it's just a pet name that people have come up with for r/w who use hammers. the general idea is to use tiger's fury for increased attack speed for damage and adrenaline build up, then unload the hammer kd's. also, i believe that the energy cost of energy based hammer attacks is affected by expertise, although i will want someone else to verify this as i do not have a r/w.

if you do not know where the name came from, please watch the movie "bambi."

yes, expertise affects the energy based cost of all attack skills, including warrior ones. Spells are not effected by expertise. Glyphs I'm not sure if they are effected or not.

The version we run is this:

r/w, 16 beast, 10 or so in expertise, rest in hammer

charm animal
ferocious strike (e)
maiming strike
disrupting lunge/call to haste
TF
2 hammer skills of your choice
res sig

Damage output is quite high, it's surprising effective. Much less so without the pet elite.

Look for a build in the ranger board, but its not that hard:

Need Expertise, Hammer, Wilderness Survival for Trolls and some Beastmastery for Tigers.

Druids armor, superior expertise, minor BM and WS.

Hammer skills just like a warrior but energy is of no concern
Tigers Fury for increased attacks
Defensive stance?
Trolls unguent
Rez sig

Basicly just a Ranger with a Hammer, it's very effective cause you can keep spamming the attack skills, not worrying about energy, cause Rangers have the unique ability "Expertise", I think bringing a pet is a bad idea though.

I use this whenever I feel like laming in PvE, R/W, 12 Hammer Mastery for maximum damage output, (Can't remember exactly, but around 10 in expertise, and around 10 in beast mastery).

Bring Tiger's Fury, Crushing Blow, Irresistible Blow, Earth Shaker {Elite}, Hammer Bash, and just keep spamming them (I use Earth Shaker and Hammer Bash myself for the knock downs, but I don't know if other people use them)

Christ these are some bad thumper builds .

Anyway here's a decent one:

Beast Mastery: 14 (10+1+3)
Hammer Mastery: 12
Expertise: 9 (8+1)

Irresistible Blow
Hammer Bash
Crushing Blow
Tiger's Fury
Ferocious Strike [E]
Charm Animal
Call of Haste / Comfort Animal (depending on 4v4 or 8v8)
Res Sig
