Default EASY Salvage question

People who find something that unlocks a rune, like a pauldron or something...

How do they actually GET the rune out of it. Like it says "Ettin's pauldron of major healing" or something, how do they GET the rune out of it?

Please explain IN DETAIL. and thanks in advance

Buy an Expert Salvage Kit. Double click the expert salvage kit and then click on the "pauldron", "harness" or whatever the rune is inside of. Most of the time the run will come out and say "Rune of minor/major/superior...", but sometimes you'll get unlucky and it will salvage out to be iron, cloth etc.

Make sure you use an Expert or Superior Salvage kit though, because a regular salvage kit wont get the rune out.

NOTE

it will always salvage out from the original drop.

where you may lose it is trying to salvage a rune that has been applied to your armor and you are trying to get it back out.

Not so. I've had a dropped rune turn into common crafting material from an expert salvage. It only happened once, but I remember because I was so shocked.

used to be possible, but got fixed a long time ago : expert salvaging any dropped armor will always result in salvaging the rune now (in case the armor has a rune of course)

Oh, I haven't salvaged a rune in a while. I always leave them in the form i found them, identified or not. I'm supersticious, so I let the other people do the salvaging after they've bought it.
