Unhappy Confused Warrior (Newbie Questions)

First of all greetings to all you take the time to read this thread I am posting. I am a newbie to Guild Wars and I just bought this game 2 month ago.

I have read several threads on my Warrior/Monk builds and after playing awhile, I am kind of confused over the whole thing and I do have a few questions and I am hoping for some answers from experinced players here. Btw I am not a PVP player yet. I just wanna play the game and have fun and learn the game before even becoming a PVP player.

I am currently level 2O and i find that my Warrior isn;t cut in for heavier task. For eg I can't tank well, I take a long time to kill and many other questions on my mind making me very confused. My current HP is 446 with 15 energy only. I have got most of my skills already with only 1 Warrior and Monk Elite Skills.

Intially I had a very good HP of 540 with energy 20(i think). During that time my Character was able to take up most of the difficult task even though it took a long time to kill. I normally go with henchies except for missions. However after applying a rune( Major Vigor I think) my Hp went down drastically and losing energy as well. From then on my warrior is weak. Many players whom I teamed up with normally say my Warrior gets owned very quickly. I am also infused btw. As such I can;t go in places like UW, FOW. ISD farming, Forge Farming. I am currently using Droknar's Knights Armor and Eternal Shield and a good Fiery Dragon sword of Shelter with max damage.

I would like to know what could I have done wrong and what can i do to reverse the current suitation. I also have other questions in mind which I hope you could take the time to answer.

1. Does each portion of the map, do you change the build for example, i know that Running to Droks you need to have Charge, Mending, Healing Breeze, Balanced Stance, Endure Pain, Holy Veil. So does each place do I need to change the skill set. I noticed a W/Memser guy killed imps easily without his HP get down so fast during ISD farming.

2. For places like UW and FOW, is there a different skill sets to use to keep my warriors alive for a longer period of time. I noticed that I don;t have enuff energy to heal or smite hexes away once I use endure pain. Only the healing signet takes a long time to recharge.

3. How can make warrior to be better in the long run. I have no heart to delete the character and start again eventhough my 2nd character is already Lvl 18. Reason being I have invested lots of my time and money for the 1st character. So if its possible how can I reverse the issue and build up my warrior from there.

4. If its possible to reverse, then I would like to know how can I do solo farming on my own with bringing henchies. Thats why I am asking Question No 1.

Thank you for those gurus for taking the time to read and answer my questions. Have a nice week and Happy Hunting.

U applied Major Vigor and ut hp went down?!?! Something is wrong with that, i never heard that before!

Ok first thing first u can't use the same build from mission 1 to the last mission. There is no such thing as an ultimate build that can own everything in the game. Thats imporrisble for farming different spots i suggest u look over at the Warrior forum it can help u out a lot. Oh BTW Endure Pain can only screw u over instead of help u.

Post all your items equipped (weapon, offhand, armor +what runes socketed) and your attribute layout.

Vigor adds health, major more than minor, superior more than major. Other runes - such as "axe mastery" add to your attributes but the major and superior forms reduce health, superior more than major, minor doesn't at all (absorption runes do not subtract health). As such most warriors have the highest vigor and absorption runes they can afford, one superior rune in whatever thier main skill line is in, and minors in the rest. Don't use majors (well, except for vigor and absorption - no penalty and the superiors are much more expensive) - they don't give enough of a bonus to be worth the HP subtracted.

Check your items for a -energy mod, other than death penalty (that isn't permanent) I can't think of any other way to have 15 energy.

As for your individual questions:

1. Typically people have a "basic" build that they use. It is usually tweaked a little here and there for individual missions and places. For things like your example those are farming builds and vary greatly and are usually pretty much specific purpose. That's a seperate issue from a build you would use in a group.

2. Your a warrior, don't try to be a monk. If you want to do monk type things become a monk - you don't have the energy, the energy regen, nor the skill points needed (can't use monk runes). You use your secondary in support of your primary - note that it is "support". Look at monk skills that help what you are doing - there are lots of damage buffs in smiting and low energy skills for stance tanks (and quite a few other combinations).

3. There will be no difference in starting a new warrior and where you are now. Everything is totally configurable - since I assume you have ascended you can even change secondaries pretty easy.

4. As for solo farming builds, check the warriors build section of the board. There are plenty of them there and they will go into more detail than I would here. Also look there for ideas on how to make a better warrior for groups also.

Ok guys from what i read here, i have to experiment the build order for myself depending on the place I am in. This will be of great help since now I know there no ultimate build for Guild War. I will read the War section for more details. Yes I have ascended.
Thanks to all who have taken the time to read my post and reply. Good hunting.

i used to be really bad with my warrior, only play for 4 months or so

but now i can farm pretty easy i suggest you start farming ettins they are fairly easy and it help me getting to know my warrior a lot.

yesterday i even found out how to use my "own" build to farm griffons and sand drakes

soo i'll say just start on beating up some little kid (someone you can take) and than after you know your warrior really good you could try to bully some bigger kids, hell, you could bash up some grown ups maybe

As the Warriors base energy is 20, Not having Gladiators armour & carrying a weapon with -5 energy will lower it to 15.
This is the only way I can think of that will lower energy.

DP will lower energy as well as health. Maybe he looked at it in the middle of a fight!

Guys thank you so much for all the replies and adivce you have given me. Yes Jediknight its true, I was using a sword with -5 energy. Also I have applied the rune of swordmanship. This rune reduced my HP as well. I have managed to bring up the HP as well to 541 now.

Thanks to you gurus that made me look at my warrior closely. Kane the HP is already low before I get into the fight and its not the DPs. Thats whay I am kind of mad why my Warrior's HP went down. So I normally don't last long and as such I get owned quickly. Well I need to work on again.

Thank you so much and good hunting.

If you have trouble "tanking" tatics and stances are a warriors best friend. There are so many ways to avoid damage and tons of self heals.Keep in mind that a good build needs energy managment, self healing, blocks and damage dealing.Combine the four and you will be the last man standing
