Default Ok. . so Now I'm Level 20

My Ritualist is anyway . . .she is over in (Factions) Kaineng Center and have not even made it to see the silly guard Pei (?) who you have to find before you talk to Master Togo again. . I keep dieing down there. . ..

Am I supposed to have discovered half the world before level 20 or am I doing this right?

What happens now. . .do you still get skill points even if you don't level? I am kind of confused on how this works. . .if you don;'t levl anymore. . .what happens then???

You get skill points, but not attribute points and heath points.

Anyway, Factions levels you up really fast. You can easily have only explored like a sixth of the world. Everything past that gets really challenging (for a new player). Good luck.

Level 20 is only the beginning, especially in Factions since you can get to it much more quickly than in Prophecies. Instead of levelling, every time you would normally advance a level, you get a skill point instead. These become valuable when you want to aquire new skills one way or another.

Don't worry, I'm sure you're doing it right.

Yeah Factions levels faster than Prophicies. You will continue to gain skill points for every 20k exp you gain. Then you can gain more skills.

Remember GW is not designed around gaining levels. Your supposed to hit lvl 20 fast. It's all about content and gaining more skills. You got about 170 skills per class if you have both campaigns. So you have a lot to still do.

You still gain skill points once you reach each level, but level 20 is it. No, you are doing it right. In Cantha, you fly through the levels. I went from 1 to 20 in one day (long day, but 1 day) with my warrior. In Prophecies, level 20 was more difficult to acheive, primarily because quests only gave you a few hundred XP, unlike Factions which gives a few thousand XP per quest. I really hope they put it back similar to Prophecies for Nightfall.

Now the goal is to finish Factions, PvP and GvG, and have fun with the game!

You will gain a skill point from every ~15,000 EXP after the level 20

Level 20 (both attribute points quests done) means that your virtual character is fully learned. Equip your character with maximum armors, weapons and items. Now it is YOUR turn to advance. Learn what every skill does and choose your role in the team. Try to find effective skills against different enemies depending which area you currently are. Pay attention what happens around your team members and think how you should use your skills to keep team members alive and same time crush the enemies, starting from those who cause the most trouble at the moment by looking what skills they are using and how they affect to your team.

Your character's advancing will never stop because it is as good as you are.

If you don't have max armor (AL 60 for a ritualist) then you might want to make that a priority as it will definitely help. If you don't have the funds or materials to get a set crafted then get the collector armor:

Guild Wars is about aquiring skills, not increasing level. Now that you've leveled to 20 you've completed training. From here on you go around aquiring new skills/elite skills, and learning different ways to use them.

As you keep dying the questions have to be:
1. do you have max armor. Answered already
2. Are you using the right hencies or a pug group. I find that playing any character that specializes in helping others is harder to do with henchies. You might want to try a build that specializes in attacking (dont know if there is a good rit build for this) as the henchies tend to follow your lead and not attack on thier own.
3. IF you are in pug ("Pick up group" with other players) group are you playing the character properly. A rit should try to stay in back and kite (run around when attacked). Don't stand in one place when being attacked. You can dodge missle attacks easily and melee attacks will not hit you as often while you are moving.

Keep trying different things here and you will get it. And as it seems you are new to guild wars we all died often before we learned the ins and outs just dont get discouraged.

Good Luck!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over hoping to acheive different results.

If you keep dying, think about what you are doing and what you might do to address the issues at hand.

As Zakarr said YOU need to advance in skill, not count character levels. Keep trucking along, visit these boards for advice, and try again. It's not that your character is weak-you need to asess the areas you are fighting in and apply your skill along with character skills/attributes accordingly.

When you figure that out certain areas they are actually quite easy. If you aren't ready or are seeing an area for the first time, you might be caught off guard. Stick to it.

Well...if you're dying a lot, you might want to look into the armor at Kaineng Center. Otherwise, all you can do is pray.

Do all your quests though, for you'll need all the skill points.
