Default Question about Expansion.

OK, I own neither Guild Wars or Factions but My friend wants me to get into guild wars and I'm wondering can I just buy factions and does it contain everything from the orginal Guild wars or do I need to buy First Guild Wars and install all of it, then buy Factions?

Each game is a stand alone, which means that each chapter can be played by itself without the others installed. I suggest that you read reviews on Prophecies and Factions and see which one is more your taste. To me anyway, I found both as quality games that I got different kinds of enjoyment from. Or, if you really want to: buy both!

I really enjoyed both, too; I'd suggest getting both, but if you can't, ask your friend where he/she plays the most and get that one.

If your a complete newbie to the GW world... Buy Prophicies. It has a better learning curve and in my opinion Prophicies has a far superior storyline and continent. Factions will throw you in at the deep end and you'll end up feeling rushed as you'll be expected to be a master of your class within days of playing... which won't happen! Where as in Prophicies you have ages to play around before it gets serious.

Think of it this way if you were reading a book you've never read before... Would you skip chapter 1 and go straight to chapter 2? Course not as you wouldn't have a clue what was going on.

i suggest u buy both mainly because there are very useful spell/skill that are only available on either side. these spell/skill can enchance ur gameplay more be it in PVP or PVE.
chapter 1 is more worth it due to the gameplay, its longer, more fun and interesting, more content as well if u choose to only buy one chapter
