Disable Ads
Default ads? in threads??

ok guru, you are a great site, and your forums are excellent. i frequent them often, and get valuable info, but you may have overstepped the line a little. the last thing i want to see in a thread is a big ugly add, and also hyperlinked words to advertising sites. i understand you have to have ads to pay for this site, but is there another way to do it w/o putting huge ads in threads? it's annoying. :P

discuss.

I've got to agree. A giant advertisement inside a post is just too much. I just about marked a guy for putting spam in his post before I realized that it was happeneing to every thread.

It doesn't bother me as long as all the ads remain "tasteful" as this community spans a wide range of ages from early teens to senior citizens. I would really hate to stop coming to this site because of inappropriate*sp* ads

I have nothing against ads, per se but these ads, like the one above, where you can supposedly get something free for answering a question are misleading. Once you answer correctly, they make you do a whole bunch of other stuff. Not to mention all the adware and stuff that gets loaded in to your computer.

I can see the need for them to pay for the forums and stuff we all enjoy, but geez, it's kind of annoying. Especially when you quote the response with the ad in it, It copies it to your own reply.
