Default bleeding damage?

my question is: is bleeding same as dmg?
i wanna train my pet but i need to get it hearty, i know i have to give more dmg and my pet has to get more dmg, it's my warrior, so if i use bleeding attacks then i'm giving dmg right?
the reason i ask this is because i'm not sure of it

Bleeding is a condition: "Bleeding causes lond-lasting but minor health degeneration"

If you want your pet Hearty, just play the game as usual. Let the pet die a lot. The pet will also level when its dead. If you wanted your pet Elder or Dire, that is when you want to "train" it. Otherwise just take the pet into battle and do nothing different. Hearty is the easiest pet type to get with no work.

I have a ranger whose pey is lvl 11 and is "Playful". From I gathered from looking around, itll be stuck at Playful, right? What if I get a new pet? Will it be able to be leveled normally? Ive read some about it, and think it wont, but Im not sure.

Bleeding is not considered as damage. Health degeneration as a whole is not considered damage.

At level 15 it should change to Hearty. They pets change (and grow) at level 11 and 15. After 15 they wont change.

Playful - Hearty
No title / either title - Elder
Aggressive - Dire

So the titles can change from levels 11 - 15 if you alter the training (Aggressive - Elder etc.).
