get ascolon armor, your gunna need it for the shivers. then the next time that u get armor have it be in henge of denravi, then followed by droks. abnwheres in between its a waste of money.

yes ppl are going to say why hod, get it at la. well, after you get armor in ascolon you might be a little short so if u wait to get to denravi your not spending more in a shorter amount of time

Depends on what class you play. But disregarding class, I would get armor at Ascalon City anyways, to make your adventures more cheerful without many deaths.

Money is shouldn't be a problem is you quest a lot and do not rush through the game like most ppl. Basically you would want to upgrade whenever there is an increase in the AL armour will give you.

don't get it in Lion's Arch, if you need to get better armor, wait for Bergen Hotspring or Beetletun, the next 2 cities over easy fight too. Then I wait until I get to the desert and get the desert collector armor which is good as Droks with out the damage modifiers.

But getting a new set in every city is a HUGE waste of money.

Now if you own more than one game go to the other game city and get max armor there.

Most of the others are saying to wait. I say it is all up to you, personaly I would wait until you get to yaks bend. That way the armor will actualy be worth it. That is if you got the collectors armor in pre searing, if you didn't then get the armor from Ascalon.
But truly it will be up to what you want to do.

It is not worth it to get armor at every armor crafter that you encounter, you will be able to get good armor at these places: Yaks Bend, Lions Arch, Amnoon Oasis, and Droknars Forge. As far as the 15k per piece armor goes then that is up to you. Also if you own Factions and have it linked to Profecies, then wait til you get to Lions Arch, talk to Firstwatch Sergio (skills guy) and take the quest "Mhnelos Request". That quest takes you to Kieneg Center where some of the best armor in the game is.

There are two armor crafters in Ascalon. Corwen offers higher rated sets that cost a bit more. If you can afford it from him you can't buy better armor until much later in the game.

if you really want the experience of getting to towns by yourself then yes, i would say to buy the armor in ascalon as a starter set. next, i would say LA would be the other town to buy armor if you don't intend to go to droks just yet.

but, if you have friends that can run you to certain places and would rather take that option then i would wait until you get to droks which has armor with the highest amount of protection.

Armour in LA is the same level as in Yaks/Ascalon. The only reason I can see to buy it there is if you have a ranger and want Druids armour. Otherwise I'd leave it til Henge or Amnoon

It's definitely worth upgrading your armour from what you wore in Pre-Searing, and this is the way to do it without spending money.

I highly recommend not spending your money on armour if you're new. Save up for your max armour (which you can buy once you reach Droknar's Forge). *Definitely* don't spend your money on newbie armour that requires expensive materials.

Here's a list of the armour collectors in Ascalon:

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Armor_c..._%28Ascalon%29

There are armour collectors all through the game (getting progressively better). Consider that any armour you get up until Droknar's Forge will *not* be max and there are quite a few upgrades throughout the game (Ascalon, Yak's Bend, Kryta, Jungle, Desert, Droknar's...), each set getting more expensive. Droknar's armour is typically 1.5k per piece, and you'll easily afford it if you try to use collectors as much as possible. Droknar's and beyond is when you should think of investing in armour that you like the look of.

when you leave pre searing, buy Ascalon armor. that should take you through to Lions Arch

if you have Factions or Nitfall,, go to either of those campaigns and buy max armor right away (you will need ~10k)

if no, get armor at LA, then get max armor from Desert collectors (free!!! just dont sell moster trophies) Those are outside towns, they trade moster items for max armor. (dont confuse Druids overlook to the desert, the desert begins after the mission Sanctum Cay)

this is free Max armor!

after you arrive to Drockans Forge, there is the REAL max armor which has the same amount of armor like the collectors version, but also has nice bonuses (as example, for monks the armor is 60 and thats all what desert collectors offer, but the crafter offers a set which gives you +8 energy, or +10 armor vs physical or elemantal damage). at this point you should have gathered ~10k to buy this armor. if not you can replace it slowly cuz you will ahve the desert set which is technicly same amount of armor, but less good

If you happen upon collector armor, get it. Don't spend money to upgrade armor 'til either the desert or Ventari. You can also warp over to Elona or Cantha (If you own those games) for max armor when you reach LA.

id say its up to u. i mean theres only so many things u can really spend ur money on ingame in gw. armor and weapons...mainly. if u have the money go ahead and upgrade if u want, u dont need to save for a super rare crystaline sword, when it will do the same damage as regular everyday sword as long as the mods are the same. my first time through i bought new armor evreytime i died! lol!
