Question Dropping an item you are carrying - hotkey?

Just to be clear, I am not talking about items in your inventory.

Sometimes during a quest, there are items that you have to carry around with two hands (i.e. Dwarven Powder Kegs), and while you are carrying them, you can't fight. So you have to click on the "Drop Item" button, fight, then pick up the item again and carry on...

Is there a "hotkey" that you can press to drop the item, as opposed to clicking the drop item button?

You can bind it to any key you want. Press F11 and open the options panel.

You can select any of your weapon swaps, f1-f4, changing weapons forces drop of carried items. Even if it's the weapon set which you are already passively using (or would be using if you were not carrying an item).
