Default How exactly do I travel?

I used to play guildwars a while ago, about a year and a half, after about 6 months i stoped playing it. A few of my friends recently converted from WoW back to GW b/c we remembered how good it really was (pvp in particular) So i decided to kick off my new adventure with buying Nightfall.

NOW i'm so confused, with the additional campain how can i get my new dervish who'm i love to death, into the old campain, b/c i want to play with my friends who did not buy NF. I know that you can, but i'v serched and serched and no one says HOW you do it, or when you can.

I have also seen low level dervishes running around the ascolon area, did they get rushed? or can you do it that early? or do you need an asended character? if so, does that character still need to exist (had one but got rid of him, dun remember why)

what about other inter-continental mechanics? are there any i should know about in particular?

this would clear up many things for me.
on a side note is factions, in your opinion, worth the $$?

thank you to those that help me

I donot think you searched hard enough
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Continent
Click on Tyria and it will let you know how to get there.

As for Factions, although lots of people dislike it, I think its a great game and has its own charm.
So yeah its worth the $$

Factions is definitely worth the money. The storyline may be shorter than Prophecies or Nightfall, but it's well written and instils a sense of urgency as you play. It also has some of the most challenging missions, in my opinion, which makes it a great way to test out your skills (it's also the only chapter that has linkup missions, in which your party links up with another party starting from a different location as both teams attempt to complete the mission).

Not to mention that you need Factions if you want to create Assassins or Ritualists - two extremely powerful (and very fun) professions to work with.
