Chest running in FOW/UW - Guild Wars Forums

So, I ascended yesterday and I think "Awesome, I'll be able to do some chest runs and get some really sweet loot and make a million dollars."

Wrong. I'm an e/mo.

As it turns out as soon as anyone sees "E" in my profession title they kick me out of the party. Why doesn't anyone ever let an ele run? Why should they care whether or not I die along the way?

Anyway, what's my best bet as to chest running? How can I persuade people to let me into their parties at all? Do I have to change prof?

I have eles in my chest run teams all the time. The problem is that alot of people automatically think youre farming if youre not a warrior in FoW.
Just keep trying there are groups that will let you in. Just ping your build so they know youre running. Also they care if you die cause in a GOOD CR team they actually rez fallen team members so they feel you may slow them down.
I often find myself having to "babysit" people cause they are just not good runners but I dont like to leave poeple behind.

That's probably up to you, but I do recommend bringing skills like Obsidian Flesh, Storm/Flame Djinn's Haste, and maybe Stoneflesh Aura

shatter enchant/rend enchantments/shame eles are not a good choice

Not a good Idea.
For 8...18 seconds, you gain +20 armor and cannot be the target of enemy spells, but move 50% slower.
50% slower bad for runs.

But Flame Djinns haste. E/A would be a good idea for Shadow Form. although you need to be careful with this.

Any prof with A secondary can easily run chests. Use dark escape, feigned neutrality, shadow form, maybe deadly paradox, dash and what you need

Btw you wont get millions of cash with for uw cr, and not even with fow. Maybe if you have luck.

OK, I gave up with my ele becuase I got raped time and time again every time I had to stop to cast a spell (even with glyph of sacrifice). Not to mention my enchantments kept getting shattered no many how many I stacked.

So NOW I use my paragon (spent an HOUR getting the beotch up to TOA), and changed 2ndary profession to ranger, and the runs are great now... and everybody seems to love "Fall back!"

So, happy running all!

Dammit, I realized after a few runs that a paragon or ranger can never get as far into FOW as a warrior... guess I'm off to make a warrior char then!
