Default Loot Scaling?

Ok...takes me a while to notice things, but did they ever change the loot scaling?

I heard they implimented it then took it back out....seems that I get mostly crud if im out doing missions with heroes and henchies compared to being in a group of people.

If the loot scaling is in effect, why was it implimented? surely a solo kinda player shouldnt get less than someone that has access to more people to play with?

it is still in effect... players now get the same level of loot they would get playing in a group when they solo, instead of getting 8 times that ammount. - they did it to reduce how much gold bot farmers could generate and sell on e-bay, and screw up the econemy.

I think you missed all the rant / cry etc. threads here on guru about it. ( I still think loot scaling was a very bad thing. Anet i am not mad, i am dissapointed )
It was put in to stop bot's, and ebay money. Though as side effect money is hard to come by these days.... So when u enter an instance u get loot as you were in a 8/8 party. Though golds, rare materials & greens are exempt. So it's still better to 1/8.

the only thing they changed from the old loot scale was rare materials, greens, tomes, and some stuff like that. but golds and gold money drops are in fact, scaled. also random monster drops are scaled (i think) like mountain troll tusks but i could be wrong

OH OK...so its not my imagination.

But the bots have not been stopped. bergen hot springs has had 2-3 districts some days.

I like the clever moving of the storage that was a mini game for a while.

ahhh well guess Ill have to work twice as hard to get the things i would want from the game.

thanks for all your responses.

bot farmers are like drug dealers - the only successfull way to stop people from running bots, is for people to stop giveing real money for gold... as long as it's finacially profitible for them, they will do it no matter what the rules are and what the risks is.

it did cut down how much gold those bots can each generate, and that in and of it's self is a step in reduceing the ammount of it that's in the game and ultimately makes gold more vaulible and brings prices down for all.

Loot scaling is still here

I hope A-Net soon sees that it only improves botting, and change it back, though.

For most players out there, the ebay cash looks really attractive now that even simple things like skills are out of reach. While bots just go in groups of 8 and farm like they used to.

My hint for keeping cash is: NEVER delete new characters, unless you wanna farm for a week just to buy the skills you need, like I did. And NEVER buy anything you don't need. Being poor sucks.

*looks at my storage to see 5K* Ohh well, I can buy my next 1,5K armor next year if I'm lucky!

ok so now I have a new question...what the heck is a bot? I thought it was something that ppl use to play while not playing?

how do you get 8 bots in group? not realy looking for the method but its interesting.

so basically....if I have myself and 7 henchies...i get limited purple and blue drops?

if I have 8 people in a group then I get an increase in gold drops...whats about money gold?

what if I wanted to farm witha friend and he goes one way and i go the other....

so many questions come up from answers.

and I feel what your saying about money... So many titles require money...and Im nowhere near that well off to achieve any of those.

skills buying is what sucks up my funds.
