Default Chkkr Locust Lord droprate?

I finally managed to make a build to kill Chkkr Locust Lord, not really farming, I just wanted to try hunting a green for once. but I must have killed him 20 times by now (solo) and he havent dropped anything fun. so I was just wondering:

what's the droprate for Chkkr's Pincers? or any green for that matter? it's odd that I cant find the % in any guide I look through.

It's very hard to tell, since it also changes frequently. The more you farm an area/kill a boss in a short space of time, you actually REDUCE your chances of a green. You should get an anti-farming message during that time. Doing a few missions will reset it.

The farming protection thing that Anet had is no longer there. You can farm as much as you want and it will not change the drop rate. They exchanged it with loot scaling so it is harder for you to get any drop whatsoever.

first of all, what is the "loot scaling" thing I keep hearing about?

and second of all, I read that the green items are "exempt" to the new loot scaling rule. now, I'm swedish and I dont really know what "exempt" means. x.x does that mean that green items DONT get loot scaled?

everybody keep saying different things since they keep updating the game to nerf farming and so on. cant someone who is up to date just tell me what the odds are of a green when you're playing alone on normal mode?

and speaking of normal mode, do you get a higher green droprate on hard mode? this is confuzzling. x.x

That's exactly what it means. They don't get included in the loot scaling. I can't really explain how loot scaling works exactly. But basically, one person now gets 1/8th of the drops in an area if they do it solo instead of the full 8/8 you used to get.

As for the hard mode thing, I don't think that effects it.

Scales it down so you only get 1/8th of the regular loot you would get

Yes, they do not get lootscaled, but they dropped the drop rate so it is almost the same >.>

Farming Dwayna's Grace, out of 5 runs i got 2 green drops. Farming Chkkr Recurve Bow out of 7 runs got 1 drop. Can't say the exact drop rate for sure, but all I know is rare=green is wrong. green's seem like a normal drop to me just they have names and good mods.

Hard mode does give you better drops, not exactly more, but better.

It scales the drops you get based on you party size - smaller parties == less loot. Anet says that a solo player will get roughly two times what someone in a party of eight does (so 1/4, not 1/8) and that is roughly my experience.

Correct, the drop rate is *not* Dependant on party size and will randomly be assigned to someone in your party. If you are solo then you get them all, in a party you would get 1/8 of them.

It will be really hard to find that - everyone has their own opinion and there is little to no long term unbiased numbers being kept. Anet says a solo player will get roughly twice the normal loot and "rares" have never changed.

Some claim they are...wrong (well, they claim the lie - but we will be nice here). Some say the old anti-farm code is still there, some say that Anet fiddles with drop rates based on how many people farm, some say that the game automatically scales loot based on the number of instances, some say that you get less than 1/8 - Anet says it doesn't do any of that.

Your call what you believe, you can most likely find someone who passionately believes whatever it is you want too so feel free to pick something else.

Personally I tend to side with Anet, I have seen nothing that can not be explained by "random" - I recently had my beast streak and got my highest number of golds I have ever gotten in a single run (eight) from Bergin Hot Springs which is supposedly nerfed to oblivion for any and all the above reasons. Places I see almost no other soloers entering and that I rarely farm have been horrid for me recently - exactly opposite of what it is supposed to be. Go figure.

Yes, all drop rates of rares are increased in Hard Mode.

awexome, I got Chkkr's Pincers! I read that the droprate of a green would be kind of like 1 in 20 and that sound about right for this one.

now I just need to sell them but ever since the loot scaling and all that I'm betting the prices of things have changed a lot. what are Chkkr's Pincers worth anyway?

btw, you say that you only get 1/4th loot when you solo, doesnt that mean that you'll get as much loot soloing as if you brought your three heroes with you? doesnt that make looting EASIER then since you'll get as much and you can bring henchmen?

I would say the best place to ask or look is in the price check forums or see if it is in GWG auctions - basically not as much as they were before and that probably wasn't a lot. If you made this build yourself then chances are the community has a very efficient way of doing it and only those that are in high demand are worth anything. It is always possible you have the most kick ass build out there, but chances are you do not and even then the green needs to be in demand to be worth much. That's not to say you suck, just that more than likely a few hundred eyes have looked at it and, collectively, they are probably better and finding a fast farming build.

No, it doesn't work that way. For the most part each time you kill something it drops something - it isn't 100% of the time and it can be anything from gold (shared with the party) to items. Used to if you were in a solo group then you got 100% of those items, if you were in a group of 8 then you got 1/8 of them and it scaled exactly in that fashion.

As of now you have "invisible" allies taking those drop - at best you are in an old party of four and it VERY quickly works towards 1/8 of the total drops. If the shallow end of the curve was on the low end then you would be correct, however the shallow end is more towards the high end. That is, there is a HUGE difference between 1 person and two, yet a small difference between six and eight.

There are also some interesting things to note - allies that are grayed out on your party window take their share of gold yet do not take their share of drops. If you are looking for a green that you can not solo take a full party of heroes, kill all the "others", flag them WAY off (until they are grayed out) and kill the boss - same as if you soloed him unless all he drops is gold. If you are making your money off of drops and only need past a certain point (for greens or in general) then this works well, though any gold drops (not color, but gold coins) will be shared with the party no matter what - even if they are dead.
