Default Items can be dupe now?

I haven't played GW for close to 4 months now and I recently came back because new expansion is coming out.

I just heard from old friends in GW that you could use the reconnect feature to dupe Armbraces of Truth and tons of tormented items are out there.

I had 3 tormented items before I left GW 4 months ago and it's crazy how people can dupe items like you did in Diablo.

Is it true? If yes then I am not planning to buy GW expansion because one of the reasons I play GW is because it is hack free.

A few people figured out how to dupe.. that is true.

But Anet solved the problem and banned the idiots that did it.

the only real thing left that Anet didnt solve is the price of tormented items..
it dropped a lot due to duping. but it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Yes items have been duped, yes action was taken but nothing much has really changed apart from no one can use the reconnect button which sucks.

Search function has error when I was using it. Sorry.

I haven't been on to GW for awhile so I was kind of lost to what's going on.

Is that mean the "duped" items have already been out on the market and there's nothing Anet can do about them?

It seems like a big issue to me because I play GW only because it is a hack free game unlike other online games.

Basicly all other MMO's are "hack" free. Also there is basicly nothing they can do about it they have banned the people who have been duping e.g. people with loads of armbraces. Yes there are still loads of duped items out there a-net if they wanted could trace trade logs and delete them, apart from it taking posible months to get rid of every duped item it wouldn't be fair on people who bought duped items without knowing.

Yes but those are found out faster than 8 months, lol also that effects such a very, very small population of the game because there are seprate servers. Also most bugs in wow are found on the test servers (anyone want to solo naxx?) and never get put on a live server.

Do people who suggest the search actually use it?

Everytime i do it finds either nothing or nothing related.

I think we need to start suggesting " go back a few pages instead of just reading the first page "

Thats what I do now, lol

If you're getting an error from the search function, it may be because you're using firefox with noscript. If so you have to allow scripts for guildwarsguru.com in order for the search function to work. I suppose this would be true for any browser with the ability to block javascripts.

No it's more to the fact it doesn't bring up any useful results or any results at all.

I've quit other online games cold turkey due to the same sort of thing. I simply will not play with issues like that going on unchecked. Emphasis here on unchecked. Most online games sufffer from some sort of exploits and/or downright hacks. Guild Wars appears by all counts to be hack free. This exploit was pounced on by Anet and offenders banned, with the means of the exploit removed. Hats off to Anet for that imho. If only some of the companies of other online games I had played had taken as hard a stance...

I'm using Firefox on the Mac with scripts enabled and search here never, ever works for me. I dont have problems on other sites. Just an fyi really. I know us Mac users are comparatively few and far between, but there are a number of us out there.

Heck, I'm using a PC running Windows XP and Internet Explorer and the search doesn't work for me either. I'll type something simple like "Gwen flute" and get 4 hits. You really mean to tell me there's only been 4 posts regarding her flute? I see questions regarding Gwen and her items almost every week here.

A search for "duplication" brings up a Gaile quote thread on the recent item duplication issue, so that works at least.

But forum search engines are terrible in general. More or less better to just do a site search from google.

The short answer: Yes, there wa a duping sceme. It's now been handled by Anet. The exploit was flagged, and killed rather quickly by anet. As soon as they plug the hole in the reconnect feature, things will return to normal.
