Default Get rich (quick or other)?

OK, looking at the rediculous amounts of money being traded back and forth in the trading forums I kinda have to wonder... looking at my account I never even got over 30K in my storage at any time, and I put every penny I find/merch/trade into it (also taking into account runing out chars/heros saps a lot out), so how do people get to be so filty rich to be able to trade 100k+1500e at all?

Is there some secret quest or Stonemasons group in the background im missing out on?

nope, It normally goes like this...

Farm about 200-300k - Start power Trading - Have lots o' Money..

Really you need to have a decent character or three in order to make money. A forge runner makes on average 10k every 20 minutes if they are constantly running. So technically they could reach over 200k in a day. If they have no life.. Which is quite possible..

I found myself with very little gold a while ago, no idea where it all went. I didn't power trade or even farm (in the normal sense) my way back up. I simply played the game picking up everything I could.

Everytime I had 10k on a character I put it in storage. Didn't buy anything that I didn't need and threw the decent items into auction or on the forums.

It soons starts to add up.

a lot of the people who are crazy rich have been in the game since beta, they've had more than 2 years to collect that kind of money. Farming for money was a lot easier before HM and loot scaling, perfect gold items were harder to come by and therefore worth more money which could mean that you only need one good drop to be rich. it takes time and effort to get insane amounts of money but just playing the game should at least get you enough money to buy one or more sets of elite armor etc, just not a mini kanaxai...

Some of these people got insta rich because of mini-pets, some are old skool traders/farmers, the rest bought gold.

Getting those PvP chests yields some rather nifty items that you can sell for a lot of ecto.
Furthermore: never underestimate peoples willingness to grind-farm

There has been (and will continue to surface) some very good farming possibilities like: Scimitar farm, Dead Sword farm, Duncan questing, etc.). They are only really worth it for a short time,- then they are either nerfed or prices drop to much to make it really profitable! (f.ex. all the above mentioned money machines are long since dead and buried)

hmm, ok, is there any way to get rich "quicker" with any specific char or area? solo farming or 55monking/dervishing/whatever?
Or what Items which can be farmed in a group which give the best money per run (such as rotwingsbow runs or such). This is mainly to help my guild finally get a full hall, and to carry on for the rest of us after the upgrades have been bought.

I have a few old golden chestrun drops (shields mainly), a pair of matching red/green Chaos axes aswell as a few scythes I have lying around I might put into the PC section later then. Maybe one or 2 will be worth a little (and to finally make space and unclutter my storage a little in the process).

Well, PvP may be an option... but Id really need an on the spot tutorial on how to PvP propperly as untill now I have nearly 100% been PvE with a little AB every now and then (found a few builds which suit my taste of play and variety) and have been more or less successfull with the teams I went with.

btw... slightly OT... but why always +ectos and not rubies, chunks of amber( I think) or black dyes as they are nearly always worth more than ectos at the traders?

Another option is treasure chest hunting in Elona. With multiple characters able to get the chests, it's a quick way to replenish gold (had 10 chars run the quickest two chests in 90 min...replenished 45k).

alot would be old school players who just did it when it was go to farm, or just played and picked up 200k, once you have that power trade

what exactly constitutes "power trading"? is it just buy low, sell high, but with high priced items?

Too bad it gets worst and worst the more you do it.
First 2 times I did it with 7 characters, I got about 25k each character, now I get 5k.

First you have to join the Secret Society of Wealthy Players. You must have a sponser and go through a lenghty initiation ritual. You can never mention this to a soul. OOOPS! Guess I'll have to go into hiding now.

Seriously ..... I've been playing the game since right after release, and I got rich by farming (when it was worthwhile to solo farm). I keep my wealth up by just playing the game now. Most of what I spend now is for runes and stuff for my heroes, and some elite armors to put in my HoM.

I farmed crap a couple years back for days and traded it to the collector for Peppermint Candy Canes. They were a fun new novelty back then that you could buy and sell for about 50GP each. I quit playing for a year or so (got married and bought a new house) and just now got back into the game. I sold 200 of them last night and now have 130K in storage. Problem is, I don't know what to do with the money now.... Oh well, I guess it's a good problem to have.

I always used to get good cash simply farming; I've never felt the need to get into trading and whatnot. I think I'm afraid to lose all my money into trading because I'm AWFUL with prices and well, never really been my thing.

I actually farmed solo for a long while, usually an hour or so a day, before the AI nerf, while doing ToPK runs. Even after the AI nerf I found a new runs, but got bored of solo... which I've been doing until roughly 2 weeks ago. Usually kept 100k+ in storage.

Right now I'm farming DoA, got me around 650k in a week, then blew it all up on a FoW set x]. Trying to get back on cash, but since I don't have all the time I had last week it might be a bit more time before seeing that much cash again.

Plus farming is more fun than trading >_>. I don't complain x]. But yeah, I farm and I have enough cash to suit my needs.

A long time ago I got a few nice rares, which paid for a set of Obsidian and kept my Xunlai box happy for a while. Nowadays though, I just do good old farming. Bergen runs paid for my elementalist's obsidian, and now I'm making pretty good money doing dungeons in EotN. And, as people have said before, there's always other elite mission areas, and the Elonian treasures. Farming can be boring (I shudder whenever I look at a dead bow ), but it can pay off well if you're patient.

A freind of mine made insane amounts of cash long long ago when he found a Europe player in international district one day and they discussed the differance in the price of Black Dye between Europe and American servers.

Within a day they both had 1000K and maxed out their storage.

He's been a power trader since then and has an impressive collection of items from dwarven axes, crystalines, torment, elemental swords, mini-pets and much much more.

Myself, ive under 100K in storage now and find that it takes about 2hours to make 5-10K just playing, not counting the odd really nice drop witch are far and few inbetween these days. Since I've nothing really left to spend my cash on its just slowy growing.

BLAST!

This is not the case anymore, darn :^)

I just checked each server group and each has the same price for each of the more expensive items. Here I was hoping I could make some quick cash.

oh well.
