My old guild was formed two weeks before the E3 2004 October 29th beta event. It was called Dragons of Fury but has long since been disbanded.

Karas Hur created on 1/9/2005 one pretty old guild on GW . the guild itself is like 20 years old maybe more.

The oldest and largest guild would probably be the guildless guild. You know, people who choose not to be in a guild. Membership is large and always active. Plus everyone is their own leader.

Natural Born Killaz Was established as a GW guild on Feb 18, 2005. We were formed as a gaming group in Feb. 2000.

The Amazon Basin (The Basin etc...)

The Basin (now 4 active guilds in its own alliance) was created on October 10th 2004 and was part of the closed alpha test. Ceolstan created the Guild within The Amazon Basin (a gaming community with alot of guilds) on the 10th. Nor sure when it was created inside GWs...although they were the first Guild of the Week and have a load of stuff named after them in game.

Not sure if this is applicable but it was a very early GWs guild and is still VERY active.

it says on my guild screen that our guild was created on June 23, 2005...though our creator is not active (uhm, his computer crashed and he has no money to get a new one) so my husband is guild leader now...I joined in Aug 2005 (was still out of the country in June)...Griffins Grove Ranger [GGR].
not even close to being the oldest, but my husband has been playing the whole time---since 6/05!

Why are there so many threads like this?

Zealots of Shiverpeak. Was made by the devs, though is not entirely dev-based nowadays. If you look at the older GW gameplay videos, you will see the players sporting that infamous cape.

My previous PvE guild, Rite of Passage, the leader and main officer met each other during beta days and made the guild a week after Prophecies came out, I believe.

Defenders of Aderon[DoA] have been around since '05 on guildwars, and the guild itself has been around since '01.
