no hard mode after hell's? - Guild Wars Forums

hi, i beat hell's precipitate about 2 weeks back, and just recently i discovered that i couldnt access hard mode in the prophicies on any of my characters. I asked some of my alliance members and they said that it may be caused by thefact that i havent completed all of the missions, but i dont find that possible because i counted all of the silver markers (missions) on my zoomed out map, and counted 25, the same number of missions in the prophecies campain, and as far as i know, there are no challange missions in prophecies.
if you do know why this may have happened, please inform me with your reason or any way i can solve this problem. thankyou.

You sure the characters you're trying to access Hard Mode on are level 20? That may be a problem, but if you're on the original character that completed the campaign then you should be 20 and in that case I'm not sure.

Just check and make sure that the character you're wanting it on is level 20. Also, sometimes just closing and reopening the game client can make a world of difference.

You didn't take any runs, did you?

To access HM you need to do 2 things: get to Lv 20 and Finish all of the missions while completing the bonus. Have you done all of the bonus in the missions? Zoom in on your map and make sure you have the 2 swords icon on all of your missions

dude thats bs, that would mean that you need the protector title to activate HM, and I know thats not true.

to get hard mode all you need is to beat hell's precipice. There are a ton of people who have hard mode and have never heard of half the missions in the maguuma...I've come across many.

Most likely issue is that the character you try on isn't level 20 (Or maybe even not in the right campaign xD)

Not that wiki is ALWAYS correct, but if you meet those 2 conditions you should be right. If not, might be a bug you need to report to Anet?

I do know you don't need to have completed the bonus/Masters for all missions to gain HM - have a couple of characters like that on a secondary account.

well here are some awnsers, i AM a level 20 character, and i have beaten hell's 2 times, once for the mission and once with the bonus and then i helped the other people in my group complete the mission.

my character is definatly in the right campain,because it is a prophicies character and i am currently in droknars forge (not in a party, by myself)

i took one run to droks, but only to get max armor, after that i picked up the storyline where it left off in beacons pearch

Well, you answered my question. I was going to ask if you were standing in Prophecies (thought perhaps you were in an EOTN town) while trying to activate HM.

Perhaps you don't know, but HM isn't automatic. It's just an option in your party window. Look at your party window while in town. In the top left corner should be 2 helmets. A yellow one for normal mode and a red one for hard mode. Just click the red one to transfer to hard mode. (You must be the party leader)

Dunno what all you people are talking about, I got teleported to Hells and beat it and unlocked HM. All you need is to beat the final mission in each campaign and be lv 20 to acess HM.
