Resurrection Shrines - Guild Wars Forums

Is there any lore or history connected to the resurrections shrines? Where did they come from? Which god if any, placed them? I have been unable to get anything to show up in a search.

There just there,I guess tended by those people that stand outside of them.

I've wondered this myself aswell, I've always thought they were basically holy energy condensed into a sphere that's locked in place by the shrine itself.
Hence there being monks/priests near by, to controll the energy.

Grenth hates most of the 'tards playing Guild Wars, so in His (lazy...) magnificence He blessed us with Rez Shrines to keep all the unwanted scrubs outta His domain.

His plan was screwed over when A-Net added the Underworld, though
