Default What to Buy ?

Simple question: I want to try this game, money is not an issue. What should I buy? I see 4 options, Guild Wars, Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North. I want to have what ever content I need to effectively play. From what I can tell, the first three contain unique campaigns. Is it best to have all 4 ?

Thx in advance

well if you have the money get all four. However if you want to try it out just get Guild Wars prophecies for now (its the original) and if you enjoy it then splurge and get the others

I'd say: Buy GW Nightfall. You get to use heros which can be much better then just normal PuG's.

You can also buy GW proph + EoTn, that way you also get acces to heros and prophecies is (imo) the best campaign (with the best storyline)

Factions is just shorrt and u don't get any extra's, but you lvl fast and it's not to hard.

i'd prolly start wit nitefall...
that seems to be teh most nub friendly game
plus u get heroes

btw, eotn is an expansion pack meant for high-lvl pve play
meaning it requires one of teh other games...
and its not recommended to go thru it as ur first gw experience
as its more difficult than the others

personally tho, factions is my fave campaign

I would get Prophecies & Eye of the North. Has everything you need, plus the best campaign & the best added on features.

no problemo - lots of good info in the sticky there imo if you are just getting one - go for NF, most friendly to new players, but they all are fun and worth a try.

Welcome to Guild Wars!

Get Nightfall and Eye of The North to begin with imo.

I'd say go for Prophecies, but the original campaign is nowhere near populated enough to start with these days (not that it's entirely a ghost town, but I could imagine becoming frustrating for a new player). Getting the above two will give you access to all the Heroes the game has to offer as well as the majority of the PvE only skill sets.

If you find you fall in love with the game after your experience with these, I'd highly recommend the other two campaigns for the campaign specific skills and content they offer.

If you can afford all, I suppose go for it, but you might find it best to focus on one storyline at a time. You could always buy the PvP unlock pack to keep your heroes up to date while you work through the stories one by one.

PS: Check out amazon, their 'Better Together' and 'Perfect Partners' deals are pretty good sometimes. Check these links:

Except for the Henge of Denravi (where I rarely notice more than 5 people at a time, though with a fairly decent turnover), any places that are the start or end of quests/missions are populated with more than enough people if you need a PUG for something (which you won't, for the vast majority of the game, if you avoid getting runs, take time to explore the explorables to find and do quests, etc.). In the North American district, anyways. Maybe there's population problems in some of the other regions, but since you can freely switch your district...
