Default So i'm making a new toon....

I have it down to Ranger or Paragon. I plan on making the ranger in NF as well

Ranger
-Thumper is fun, but any good in PvE? what about areas were i can't KD?
-Escape scythe was fun in PvP, but seems a little redundant in PvE
-Barrage is my #1 choice right now.
-Burning Arrow seems to be the only good Marks elite I can get early in NF
-Ranger do have a large choice in play style, so I doubt i'll get bored
-I have a ton of mods for ranger builds sitting around ^^

Paragon
-SY/TntF seems to be the only good PvE build
-I've heard it makes the game ridiculously easy though
-would it take a while to get the PvE skills? How much do Elite Para tomes go for? If i remember right, the elite (Focused Anger i think) is a fair way into NF

Few more things
-I plan on making this my title hunter. i will be going for survivor, which has a better chance of living? :P
-I have a basic understanding of the two classes. I read stickies on both forums and did my research
-Any tips, builds, or constructive opinions welcomed

rangers r more versatile

paragons...have fun playin teh same build for teh rest of ur lifetime

to answer ur questions...

a modified thumper can work
i'd prefer teh pve skill [never rampage alone] over [rampage as one] to free up ur elite slot

pve skills...tntf u can get basically at lvl3 or whenever u get to kamadan
save yourselves...all that is required is that u be lvl20 for ur chara
(the faction and title req. is account based)

ranger is easier for survivor since they attack from a longer range,
and can bring better self-defense/heal
paragons, have good party support/defense skills...
but not as many options as a ranger for self-defense

but if u plan on doin drunken boxing or similar to get survivor
then teh paras extra armour will be more beneficial
(i did ss/lb runs to max survivor+ss+lb all at teh same time on my para...
and teh armour there also helps so that ur targeted less often)

Just because you're going to make it a title hunter->>Choose Paragon, No doubt about it.

Why is a Paragon better for title hunting? I'm a bit confused by that idea.

[Save yourselves] and [there's nothing to fear] are the reasons why a Paragon is easier to title hunt with. Leave the dazing to a hero.

The energy management comes from spamming SY and energy gain through Leadership.

I'll find the build in a moment.

leadership would provde 6 energy at 12 attribute for every shout, and SY is free, so a net gain of 6 energy. TNTF would be 9 e.nergy, and with anthem of flame you can keep agressive refrain up forever.

imbagon ^

and people say thats the only build you'll ever use, but I find that spearmastery builds with [soldier's fury] or [cruel spear] are great fun

AR is used once at the begining of the battle, then it is kept up with shouts. Energy is never a problem.

These types of comments are just unnecessary. You might be shallow enough to refuse to play a Paragon because of a dress, but not everyone else. Guess what? Dervs wear dresses too! Rt leggings aren't exactly shorts either..

Go Paragon and get FoW. Fricking amazing.

You won't have energy problems with a Paragon when you have the broken primary attribute Leadership. Use Anthem of Flame / Go For the Eyes to regain energy. You should be casting Aggressive Refrain before battle anyways.

You might have a couple builds in PvE, but when you're in PvP, you've got more options.

i dunno...i think looks can be quite important to a chara
there r a ton of ppl who remake yr old charas jus cuz they dun like how they look

i dun mind the para skirts...but do they have to make them look all the same?
it would be nice to see moar variation and moar pants would be nice too

its funny how all paras look the same, and they all run the same builds too

anyways...male ranger armour isnt that much better than male para armour
female armour in both r pretty slick tho

i feel like pragons may be bettter for living longer (better armor) but rangers still have a good track record for the "Living game" due to range. and it seems like youll be better at ranger hacing so many mods liying around and i personally love rangers.
flaming barrrage/splinter barrage Ftw!!
